And then for the Jets' top 5 propsects, Button added Berdin @ #4 and Torgersson @ #5.
I never tend to rank goalies high in prospect rankings, because they are so difficult to project. Even with the Jets, I can't tell whether Berdin or Holm is a better NHL prospect.

I would put Gustafsson in the top 5 for the Jets. We haven't seen Torgersson at all since being drafted, but I know that Button really liked him going into the draft (had him ranked as a 1st rounder). I really like his profile as a big, fast aggressive RW with good hands, though.

I think Chisholm has put himself into the conversation for top-5 among the Jets' prospects.

Oh, and Vesalainen still has a shot of being a decent NHLer.

With a glut of D prospects with the Moose it will be a good opportunity for the Anchorage, Alaska product to start his career with the Icemen.

Is he looking at any quarantine time going from Niagara to Florida?

Its unfortunate that he has only gotten 9 games in this season for development. Johanneson hasn't played in any games and Baur has only played a couple. Makes me real happy that we were able to get Perfetti into the AHL where he is going to get a good 40 games in when factoring in the WJC.

This upcomming draft is going to be incredibly interesting given the lack of playing time by many prospects. I think you will see a lot of great late round picks.

Much like the drafts were 30 years ago, when they didn't bother scouting.

This could be a great year for the Jets to pick late in the first round given how few games have been played by the top prospects. Hard to gauge how good some of these players will be as it is fairly common for them to make huge strides in their draft -1 season and leap into the top-10 rankings prior to the draft. Not much of a chance to do that this year.

I think we will see quite a few gems in the late first/early second round.

Could be. Or maybe we are the team that suffers from a lack of scouting. Coin toss.

That is a pretty big deal at his age. Also seems stupid that he'd have to wait a year.
NCAA rules. Can't just move from school to school without losing a year. Jets had another guy just do that recently but I can't remember who it was.

Like @Oilpeg said, it’s an NCAA rule. Same thing happened to Jets prospect Croix Evingson a couple of years ago.

I believe (but am not certain) it’s to prevent players from “stacking” teams. I think the worry is a bunch of good players will all transfer to one school to try to win a title together — the year gap is supposed to be a deterrent I think. That’s how it is for Manitoba high schools, anyway. If a kid’s family moves and he has to switch high schools, he has to sit out the year (seems a bit extreme for high school, but still).

Jared Moe has also done this this year. He's leaving Minnesota for Wisconsin. He's not who I was thinking of though.

Here's the rule.
"Under NCAA rules, graduates do not have to sit out a year when they transfer. Those who do not earn a degree currently have to unless they obtain a waiver. However, it is widely expected that the NCAA is going to pass a new rule, perhaps as early as next month, that will allow all non-graduates a one-time transfer without having to sit out a season. Even if that doesn’t pass, Moe would be able to apply for a waiver."
