They've given another assist to Rashevsky today. Now 2G2A in 3GP.
Hard to know what Rashevsky's potential is. Great hands. Crafty. Not a burner. Late developer. I guess a player like Guentzel is the optimistic dream for top end potential.
Watching various clips of Rashevsky, he clearly has great hands, a lot of offensive creativity, and good vision. I guess the knock on him has been his lack of explosive skating, and he's not very strong. So the question becomes whether he is good enough offensively to slot into that role at the NHL level. With the Jets, for example, will he be able to beat out players like Perfetti, Lucius, Chibrikov, Vesalainen and Torgersson for top-6 or top-9 roles? Maybe, but the odds are stacked against him, as they are for most prospects. So far for me he is the most intriguing prospect we have. Intriguing is the word the scouting department used a number of times when describing him and I cant help but agree with that. He wasn't actually on anyones radar but thanks to video scouting they were able to capture a lot of interesting clips and the more they saw, the more they liked.
This draft class seems promising for us.....so far......
Most reports I read describe him as a waterbug type of player and now that KHL logs the top and average speed of each player every game you can see he's had the highest average speed of anyone on his team the past 2 games and his top speed looks fine as well. Also from what I understand he was on team's radars, he had just communicated that he wasn't planning on coming overseas up until this past draft.Watching various clips of Rashevsky, he clearly has great hands, a lot of offensive creativity, and good vision. Is he physical? 190 lbs or so.Most reports I read describe him as a waterbug type of player and now that KHL logs the top and average speed of each player every game you can see he's had the highest average speed of anyone on his team the past 2 games and his top speed looks fine as well. Maybe if there’s a bunch of injuries. He’s barely good at the AHL level. Just doesn’t seem to have enough skill to be a regular NHLer IMO.Does Seuss get some nhl games this year?
Not that I've seen but I haven't seen a lot. This scouting video has a really fun highlight package that doesn't answer your question at all. I know everyone looks good in highlight reels but considering it's only from 10 games it's pretty impressive. Is he physical? 190 lbs or so.

This guy shares the skating concerns Whileee was talking about but even in the highlights he was showing to make his point I thought it looked pretty good. Seemed like he was looking for something wrong just have a negative. I thought his edgework was solid, maybe a little lumbering in a straight line and maybe that makes him look a little slower than he actually is. Nice to have his speed clocked in the K to know that it's not so much of a concern. His top speed is above average compared to his peers (others in the same games) and his average speed is higher than most. I'd love it if the NHL started tracking speeds like this.

Just a note that was made after the 19-20 season, so he's had a full year of development since then.Kid has some sick mitts and gave me a bit of a Datsyuk vibe with some of those moves. Looks to have good vision and passing as well and a solid shot.
His edge work looks fine but if he could get a little quicker it would really help.
Wouldn't it be nice to finally get a late round steal in terms of an impact forward.
I find it amazing that all of those highlights were just a 10 game span. He did the same thing on the powerplay where he sells a shot, all the penalty killers and goalie bite and move to the left, and he hits the guy on the backdoor with a wide open net 3 separate times. And the shooter biffed it. Every. Single. Time. Just great vision despite his gaudy goal totals. Also whenever he does happen to lose the puck he seems to battle like hell to get it back.

It's good to see for sure. But most of this stuff isn't going to transfer to the NHL. It's one thing to fake out some KHL bottom 6ers but the NHL IS A different animal.I find it amazing that all of those highlights were just a 10 game span. I'd still prefer to have him come play a year on the moose. There should be some very good players in that lineup to help ease him into the Jets system.Im in favor of Rashevsky staying another year playing alongside Shipachev. Not a bad idea to develop and score alongside the KHLs best C. And then come over and get plugged on a line with Dubois, Scheifele, Perfetti, or Luciuz...
