USA vs Norway on TSN1, TSN4, and TSN5.
McGroarty wearing #2 and on a line with Cutter Gauthier and Jimmy Snuggerud.
USA's kind of looked like ass in the 1st period.

Sweden vs Latvia on after the USA game on TSN1 and TSN4.
Salomonsson and Wagner on Sweden.
Is this Rutger's 1st game since his injury?

So whatever happened with Dom D this year? Guy fell off the map?

Not super clear when his injury issues started but I've seen some speculation that that's a big part of it. The Battalion aren't a great team though which also adds to it.

Lots of hype for the USA team but they looked terrible today. Canada looked bad (although Finland looked worse) but I’d put them comfortably ahead of the Americans so far

He's in net now. 6th mins to go in the 1st, Canada up 1-0 against the hosts.

Was just replaced by Dell with Canada up 3-2. I don't know exactly what Milic's issue was but he seemed in some discomfort for several minutes in the 3rd period. Was down on his knees stretching but ultimately left the game midway through the period during the powerbreak. Hopefully nothing serious.

He was back on the bench late in the 3rd so I guess he should be fine. Canada lost the game though as Dell let in two goals and Davos completed a 3rd period comback.

The loss means Canada doesn't get time off, has to play Kalpa tomorrow. Will be interesting to see which goalie gets the start.

How'd he look while he was in? Sucks for Dell to have to come in cold like that.

Pretty good. A bit too aggressive sometimes for my liking but he can't be blamed for the two goals he gave up. The 2nd one was a shot from the blueline. A good one but not unstoppable. Milic was screened though so it would have been a difficult save to make. The first goal was actually an own goal by Nathan Beaulieu who not only knocked in a broken Davos pass past Milic but while doing so also a Davos player into his own goaltender. I wonder if that's what caused the injury and Milic just tried to come back out for the 3rd. Anyway, I don't think it's all that serious if he was back on the bench at the end of the game. I wonder if he's healthy enough to play tomorrow though. We'll see.

Milic not in the lineup today. I think if he was anywhere near 100% he'd have been on the bench. Still, hope it's not too serious.
Hopefully he’s alright. Also just a comment on the Spengler Cup, it’s pretty fun to watch despite the low skill level. Having Nathan Beaulieu as your 1D and Jordie Benn as your captain is hilarious

I don't have any stats but I don't think Beaulieu is even close from 1D. I think him and Benn are the defensemen with the lowest TOI. Even LaLeggia seems to be getting more icetime recently. 1D is probably Ty Smith.

Yeah, Ty Smith seems to get the most ice, but in the first game the colour guy called those two Canada’s top pair, and said Beaulieu is their shutdown #1D, which is fun

They're the 3rd pair but I'm pretty sure LaLeggia, officially listed as the 7th D, was actually playing more than Beaulieu/Benn. Today, Gélinas seems to be the 7th D though.
Also, to get back to the topic, Milic seems to be back as well:
