Our stationary line at the blue line wasn't properly set so instead of them being forced to dump in we gave them a free lane to the outside and since everyone was stationary their players in motion easily got behind ours. More crap systems and bad execution.

Stationary? I think they give up the line by design

Here's 2 PK clips from earlier in the season before Maurice resigned

People who think PLD may not stay long-term need to remember his father is gainfully employed with the Moose . TNSE likely making sure the family is "taken care of". It's not 100 percent a factor but it is a big factor.

Well then somone wasn't in the correct position and they gave up too much space and a lane. Still that is par for the course with this coaching staff. Somehow they think it is less risky to have numbers back and allow teams to gain our zone then in all situations then to aggressively force dumps.

This is pretty contradictory to what most coaches emphasize.

Reminder that people here didn’t want Gallant in the off-season because he ended on a bad note with VGK and is a “retread dinosaur”....

I know he has an all world goalie but I think the narrative that a well known coach = won’t play kids/old fashioned is kind of lazy. Every coach realistically will be fired at some point, it’s the nature of the position

I think most people wanted him

I will just say it but could Chevy have gotten it anymore wrong with Lowry as interim. Maurice was at least moving towards a more modern and aggressive scheme before the skid that lead to him quitting. Lowry has just gone right back to the ultra old school and conservative mindset and the players aren't having any of it. What a colossal blunder on his part. One wonders if he really should be given the responsibility to find the next coach.
But they came out much more aggressive when he first took over. What changed?

Good call, fire his dad if he leaves. I like where your head at.

I blame Comrie. He let in two goals and didn’t score any.
He hasn’t been hanging with Bird-man..
Just with Helly..
But he wasn’t terribly bad..
Still..I like it when our guys don’t think and get crazy-adrenaline-fast with the passing..creates chances..I just don’t know what lines would work best.. maybe we just need a coach that keeps them on the adrenaline-reflex only pattern of play that could meld into four good lines..

I think people are panicking a bit too much about those comments and what they mean for players wanting to be here. I take the comments as the players caring about this team and the direction of it. They are essentially voicing what they believe as problems to management. I think they want to have things succeed in this city but the ball is clearly in managements court now. The core sans maybe Mark and Blake are clearly fed up with the coaching and have let management know.

I believe if these players really wanted out they would just quietly tender trade requests and leave it as that.

Another GDT and another loss for the Jets. I guess you can blame me for tonight's game...again!:baghead: To be honest, they did put up a decent fight and Eric Comrie played very well...

NobodyBeatsTheBrick.jpg

But in the end, it was the same old results we are used to...

YouseGuysLose.jpg

I can just imagine what Andrew Copp and Jacob Trouba were thinking after the game...

UpYoursWinnipeg.jpg

I wonder if this team will ever win again? Will they play some of the rookies? Will Connor Hellebuyck still have the "squirts"? Will I make another GDT? These questions and more will be answered on Thursday, when our beloved Jets play the "Jerks" in Carolina. See you then...

People contorting themselves with math to decide if the Jets are out or not.

WE ARE OUT.

get over it.
What contortions? The math is clear. Based on the tie breaker rules, the Jets still need to lose a point or Dallas needs to win a point for the Jets to be... MATHEMATICALLY eliminated. Are the Jets going to make the playoffs? No, of course they're not but again...

The point the other poster was making is that they are not yet MATHEMATICALLY eliminated. Math (unlike meteorology) is a very precise science. Siding with Sawyer over math won't make anyone look smart.

My theory:

I think when there was a longer runway he was more receptive to playing a more modern game and playing the skilled kids more. As things became more and more dire with regards to playoffs he became desperate and started restricting things and coaching to try not to loose. Look no further then his handling of Helle, he rode him into the dirt because of how desperate he was.

Rangers won that fair and square.
The NHL is an inherently unfair league, and the Rangers’ status — Original Six team, located in New York City, play in Madison Square Garden — affords them an advantage that teams like the one in Winnipeg don’t have.

*In isolation, you could say this game was won fairly, but if you measure the overall differences between the two clubs, it’s easy to see the Rangers have an “unfair” (or unequal, or unjust, or whatever term you want to use) advantage over the Jets.

*I didn’t watch this game so I’m not sure if you’re referencing anything specific, I just wanted to have some fun.

Just listened to Dubois and boy did he ever shit on the coaching.

"Those teams take risks, yeah if you don't risk anything you may not give up anything but you don't gain anything either"
- Risk aversion the hallmark of Maurice and Lowry's coaching the last number of years.
Talking about predictability on breakouts and how everyone knows where everyone will be so you automatically play faster.
-How you can predict anything in terms of where a player will be in an M2M scheme is beyond me as your positioning is entirely based on what the opposition does.
Talked about not doing enough in the ozone to force teams to give up more space and forcing teams to abandon shape and get out of position.
-So someone doesn't like the archaic and static offensive scheme with basic point shots we run.

It is clear as day that the players have no use for an old school chip and chase, back the points and shoot for tip game plan. Why this org continues to to try to force square pegs into round holes with their schemes are beyond my ability to fathom. It is clear the players want to play a more predictable defensive scheme and they want to play a more robust offensive scheme. Dubois pretty much told us exactly where one of the major schisms is tonight.

The sad part is a good many of us have been calling for exactly what Dubois spelled out for years now. WTF is the Jets hockey ops doing. These people are paid big dollars to maximize their teams effectiveness and to my ear it sounds like they aren't even listening to the players thoughts on the matter.
