I'd prefer to wait until the deadline to make a move on the blueline, but this reminds of last season when the Canucks were injured & made their play for big Z. The situation right now is just untenable for a team that wants to make the playoffs. Really hope Boeser and Miller can recover from their injuries soon.
Yeah but they paid nothing for Zadorov. Guarantee you if they could pull Marcus Pettersson or equivalent and the cost be a 3rd + 5th + Forbort, they'd do it.

Last year, Demko played 51 games, won 35, with a 2.45 GAA, and a .918 SV%.

Not throwing stones at Lank & Silovs, but we're not running with our best. Where would the Jets be without Helly?

Won't lose my shit until Demko and Brockstar are back. And yes, we need help on D, as do most teams in the NHL.

I mean, we did just play a Nashville team that before this game, had the exact same point % as the Blackhawks. If we need Demko to beat teams like this, then we're more f***ed than we could've thought.

Zadorov was a bottom pairing dman at the time of acquisition who played much better towards the end of the season once he knew the system. Marcus Petterson has been playing at a top 4 level for much longer, so the price will naturally be higher.

I don't know what's available on the market (looks like very little right now), but something has to be done, as the current situation is flushing points down the drain & is going to kill team morale if it stays this way.

If Miller was hurt why was he still on the bench? Seems like a classic bozo benching.

I'm just not a big Marcus Pettersson guy in terms of him being the top four solution for us so that's part of the reason why I put him on the same level.

Also because of what you said - we don't really know who's available. We knew Zadorov was available and that Calgary didn't want to retain or take back money and that they'd turned down Leafs offers before we jumped in.

Really, really poor loss. This was the end of the easy start to the schedule and you wanted to get 25 points out of these 17 games and instead they got 21. And now they'll have to walk uphill for the rest of the season.

Team probably deserved better but a couple atrocious performances can ruin a game. Both Hoglander and Myers were absolutely horrible. Braindead. Out of sync with the rest of the team. Both should be scratched for the next game but they don't have the bodies.

Lankinen for the first time this year was outplayed by his opposite number and has to share blame for the loss.

Sherwood was the best player on the ice, Pettersson was good, and that line was effective. 3rd line was effective. 4th line was effective aside from Hoglander.

Miller has been hurt all year and I assume his situation tonight was injury-related. Ferraro confirmed he wasn't healthy and he would know.

Lekkerimaki looked like an AHLer tonight. Knocked around by the Nashville D, zero penetration, everything on the perimeter. He's giving it a go but he's not ready and not even on the same planet as Boeser right now.

Brannstrom good again. Juulsen was actually fine and it's been a lot of games since you could say that.

Hughes was trying to do too much and overhandling the puck.

Team needs another defender *right now* before the season gets away. Unfortunately they took their best offseason trade chip in Hoglander and gave him an ill-advised extension that has probably totally tanked his value.

Way too many holes on this team. Need 2 top 4 defenders to start...but then you wonder about the severity of JT Millers injury...

Seems like we get burned on every soft icing call. This time it leads to the Hoglander penalty which leads to the power play goal against.

And in general, failing to get the puck out on good opportunities and bad icings is the mark of a soft team. It's happened way too often this season.

Probably the first time Lankinen looked like a backup.

Lekk has NHL level skill and IQ but the difference between him and a pro like Boeser that has developed a very polished game is stark. He's a big loss, for Miller especially.

Have you seen the path Hronek takes to every potential icing? I wouldn't be surprised if the linesmen are giving us the Holmstrom treatment, lol.

Surprising. I thought Miller was the least of their problems in the first 40 minutes.

There were a couple games recently where his legs weren't going at all but I didn't think that was the case tonight.

Tocchet has pushed this button before with Miller and it's worked so we'll see what happens.

juulsen wasn’t horrible tonight

that is all
I actually feel a little sorry for Juulsen......he's expected to come out of the press-box every five or six games, and then step in as if he hasn't miss any time.

At times the game must seem like it's coming at him at 100 mph. But his track record is that when he plays a few games in a row, he starts to play better. And he's been more than 'adequate' in the past two nights.

At his pay-grade, he's not the problem. It's the guys earning a lot more in front of him.
