Just one Dostoevsky guy (well earned) for the first period.

Must be the Demons Devils era of Do'...

In the future I want to see Connor stop slowing down through the NZ so much. Trust that PLD will either keep up and keep you onside or find you with a pass. Or barring either then I'm 100% sure that PLD will dump it and Connor'll have such a leg up that there's no way he'll be at risk of getting put on his ass behind the net.

I'm making this post because Connor just seems to be holding up once he crosses centre and starts looking back for a pass. That pass isn't coming if he's not moving his legs. Maybe it's just a timing or pace issue that they'll work out as they build chemistry but it's really stood out. It's making zone entries awkward for that line.

What difference does it make when those high danger chances were? Lol. Hellebuyck stopped them regardless. Not saying the Jets were not opportunistic, but I think people saying the Jets played 'well' is disingenuous given the evidence.

They won, but if you play this scenario out multiple times, Ottawa wins most of the time.
Jets won 5-1 , lighten up a little. They had a crap first period but that what our vezina winning goalie is there for. If we lost 5-1 then have at it but we won.

not as boring as the last Jets' game, but kinda dullsville.

Connor looks like he stopped taking his iron pills.
Wheeler had good moments.
BooBoo was Le PooPoo.

we won but it was somehow exhausting

I like seeing the Jets win, believe it or not. I just wish it wasn't under these circumstances. I miss the 2018 season where the Jets were statistically good, won games and deserved to win them. Just want that to come back is all!

Favourite moment... nice goal by The Forgotten man, Frenchie.

Great first by Helly like a 4x6 sheet of plywood over the Jets net.

Best player on the ice... Stastny.

Good effort by Ottawa in the first but they reverted to being the 31st best team in the league. And their goaltending was even worse.

Still a great win. Need to bank these points to weather the Montreal/Toronto storm down the road.

Well said. Loved Hercule's goal.

Stastny seems to be very Hell boy like, in the context of having rebound games after a weak sauce game.

Some thoughts:

-pretty poor effort all around. Lucky it was only Ottawa

-Hellebuyck was amazing. He seems to be trending up

-Appleton was great

-Beaulieu and Forbort were both catastrophes

-PLD completely invisible except for a bad penalty

-Connor also invisible

-Pionk’s goal was sick

-Poolman looked alright. Should probably be in over Beaulieu

-Perreault looks rejuvenated

-I’ll take the two points, gotta clean up their play on Saturday though

Well, if you give me your phone number, I'll give you a call complete with hot takes, non-sensical ramblings, illogical line up changes and baffling trade proposals.

Honestly I think if we put our minds to it, this could be a reality.:laugh:

Two games in this is more likely than not. These guys do not know each others game at all - they come from 2 very different systems.
One is trying to learn a new one and one is trying to work with him as he does. So much of what you see on good lines, is chemistry and knowing your line mates - let's give it a little time before we dive too deep.
