Oh, I am the king of “everything happens for a reason” and “don’t worry about what hasn’t happened”.Unfortunately not up to you or me. So the only thing you can do is root for whoever plays that 3rd pairing spot.
We also have worse options like Heinola.
Ya i have always liked Stanley.Yeah, recency bias and Stanley Derangement Syndrom can cloud people's opinions pretty easily
Stanley - Miller was statistically the best 3rd pairing we had all season
This relates to a question I was going to ask ( for anyone ) re concussion protocol.
The incident happens during the game, Chef gets laid out, gets up and keeps playing. At no time did the spotter remove Chef from the game re the NHL Concussion Protocol. He leaves the game in the intermission. Now assuming he is looked at by the doctor, and the doctor says he has a concussion, does the team have to call up he NHL officials and report that the player has a concussion? What if he showed no symptoms during the intermission and he’s just kept out as a precaution, but has symptoms hours after the game. Again he is seen by the team doctor, and same question…do the Jets have to report it to the league? Remember the spotter didn’t pull him out of the game.
Basically, what is the team’s obligation to reporting a suspected concussion? When the spotter at the game saw no issue?
It's wild, Stanley keeps bucking fans opinion's with stats, which probably drives the stats nerds crazy.
He's a polarizing player for sureIt's wild, Stanley keeps bucking fans opinion's with stats, which probably drives the stats nerds crazy.
For me is more of an indictment of the stats. I don't think Stanley is near as bad as people think, but i don't think he's a good as the stats painted him to be this season or in the playoffs.
I think every mistake he makes is magnified to the 100x, and when he does f*** up it's sometimes a doozy.
It's a very interesting phenomenon.
You guys and your baseless concussion speculation![]()
Kinda odd. You'd think with any shoulder, arm or rib injury he would not be moving so easily or the very least grimacing in pain. Wonder what it can be, and hopefully this is a good sign that it's not something major. Could also be full of drugsView attachment 1030552
I posted in the post game thread that in my Dr Nick Riviera / Dr Jim Montgomery lite medical opinion…two arms up is a good sign that it isn’t a shoulder issue.
I mean, there is SOME reason to believe it's a concussionIt isn't baseless. It is speculation.![]()

Hangnail?Or collarbone either.
So ......... what then? He wouldn't be doing that if at was a concussion either.
Hangnail?
Those can really hurt
Schiefele playing seems likely at this point, based on PP1 practice time and doing line rushes with the team. Morrissey maybe a little longer, but very positive he is skating with a non contact jersey prior to practice.Scheif is taking reps on PP1 - I'd say he's back for game one.
And changing the title of this thread to "I'm not a doctor, but..." would be pretty funny.
Well that to me indicates JoMo isn't out long term which is great news.
Not even flying to StL for game six, but still almost playing in game seven is why I assumed it was a concussion.I mean, there is SOME reason to believe it's a concussion
The return to play protocol for a concussion seems to be fairly similar to what Schief has been going through. Not many other upper body injuries heal that quickly
I hope watching Fleury outskate his opponents in game 7 showed that we need more speed not more notspeed.
I don't know about that one. I think people are reading a lot into PP. It could be that Josh has a shoulder injury that limits his range of mobility affecting his shot, which would negate his PP effectiveness.Yup, but unlikely he plays tomorrow.
It’s crazy it’s as if ppl want Stan to fail so they can be right.
Even if it’s just the coaches, who led team to top of league insisting on Stan playing he’ll be in at some point in round.
I’m more concerned with Helly than I am with Stan who will play 10 minutes a game.
Bruised ribs?I'm still sticking to it being a back problem with Joshua.
Possibly but I'm thinking lower back triggering back spasms.Bruised ribs?
If you slow down the replay, it sure looks like the point of contact from Sundqvist is the left shoulder. Morrissey comes back out an makes a hit with his right shoulder, and it probably jolted him enough that he was in distress after it. I am not medically inclined to speak of the exact nature of the injury, but even from the first hit you can see that Josh is turning to avoid the contact directly, and Sundqvist targets a specific area. I'm sure the Blues would know he's hurt, and so will Dallas, but they aren't as heavy of a team, with 3 scoring lines, and Dadonov on the 4th line.I'm still sticking to it being a back problem with Joshua.
