There aren't 28 teams that can afford him. Ignoring your trollish pessimism (I'm sure you believe he'd rather play for Calgary, Buffalo, Phoenix, etc. Because they're such better contenders than Winnipeg) I really need to see how much cap space our signed RFA's will leave us with.

The nice thing is most teams aren't in a position to bid big on a player like him. We've got as good a shot as anyone IMO. We were just outside of being in the playoffs and most of the playoff treams are already tight to the lowered cap. This is really our dream scenario in these circumstances.

Keep dreaming the dream, brother.

Koivu is a pretty good set up man.

He averages more assists than Little, Kane or Ladd's career highs.

He averaged almost 50 assists a season for a stretch of his prime.

He isn't Getzlaf, but he is better than any non-Wheeler Jet.

Not anymore he's not lol. Koivu in his prime was awesome...unfortunately he's not in his prime anymore and is a pretty good third line C.

How would you guys feel about dealing Chicagos picks back to them for Bolland? (2nd, 3rd) I'd hope they could add an extension onto that once acquired, maybe 2 years or so.

No thanks to Bolland. He's not going to want to go anywhere to be a third line C, and he's not good enough to be a second line C. There is a reason Hawks fans have put his name in trade proposals all year.

If he's going to play for third line money then great, do not want at second line money.

Maybe turn it into a bigger deal? Leddy got almost no ice time in the final. They're going to have a log jam on D pretty soon.

Something around Burmi for Leddy and Bolland? Us adding obviously, maybe a 2nd and 3rd.

I don't see why we'd have to add anything... if anything Burmi is a bit of an overpayment IMO. I could be missing something here though (and I say that as someone who would like Bolland on the 3rd line).

I find it odd that nobody is talking about Lecavalier.

edit: saw it. correction: Why aren't we talking about him more?

I think most people doubt Winnipeg would be in the top 29 list of places he'd want to go.

That's not even possible. There's only 29 other teams he can go to.

I think if Chevy is serious about him, we could put together a serious offer more easily then teams like NY, Boston, Chi, Van etc.) can.

Chances are he'll go to Toronto or MTL anyways, but I wouldn't be too quick to count us out.

Sounds like Vinny might want a short term deal, then return to TBay. No thanks.

Just when you start to like him, he's gone. ;).

I think Vinny has been in the florida heat for too long, I don't see him signing for a cooler climate franchise. He will go somewhere that has heat. Just my hunch and nothing more.

If he goes somewhere for a year and then re-signs with Tampa, wouldn't they be paying him more then if they didn't buy him out?

Haha so I did. I hope the Jets do, too :sarcasm:

I sure hope your eyes are right, and all of the facts and stats, and the eyes of many on here are wrong, or else we are in for another long season.

Anyone in the media! :)

I hear that Lecavalier and Richards are potential buyouts. Man it would be nice to sign one of those guys for a sane dollar amount and term.

Lol I hate quoting myself but I mentioned this a few days ago and had no bites.
