Told my wife the Jets were gonna win (she doesn’t care about hockey) after she told me they suck. So I’m annoying the hell outta her

First couple games I called this. I had a hunch and I didn’t believe his play could drop so far so fast

Yup, his results defensively & 5vs5 have been bad.......PP he's had more success. The big difference between the two is one requires a bunch of skating & endurance and the other one is more stationary. Watching him play you can see he's struggling skating and/or endurance wise. I'm curious to hear eventually what the injury is.

Yeah and how many of those points are on the PP which is basically a skills competition where he's able to float around behind the net. And if you take his points and subtract the goals against that he's been directly related to they'd damn near even out. This isnt the 1980's, youve gotta be able to play defensively and right now he's a complete liability. You think its a coincidence that his ice time was way down and he barely saw the ice in the 3rd? The coaches are concerned too. I love Wheels but his overall play this season is concerning.
Thats why it’s important to dress each night a lineup of role players and go from there. Conner is a Pp specialist. Forbort is a good defender. Pionk PP. Stanley stable third pair. Etc. You need a little bit of everything in the toolbox. Some players get more ice when we are ahead. Some get more when we are behind. The score isn’t always 0-0

Well then perhaps he should come out of the lineup and heal up properly. He is worth more to us healthy then injured at his age.

Reasonable question. That will be a player/coach/Doctor decision, clearly PMO has decided it warrants reducing his role & TOI. 13:04 only tonight, he's definitely nursing something.

PMO virtually admitted there Wheeler is dealing with an injury, he stated something about he can talk about it in 2-3 weeks.......clearly playing with an injury
There you have it... Do you remember a few years ago when he got checked into the open door to the bench, ribs first? I was like, well there goes the season for him! Then he was back on the ice in a couple of shifts, and we're like how is that even possible?! Well, I don't remember the details, but earlier this year there was a similar incident where I was like, OK, see you in 10 games, and he was right back on the ice, then I remembered the door incedent and was like, oh, yeah, of course he's back! This explains a lot. Some will say that if he's injured and ineffective, he shouldn't be playing, but there are intangibles here that MAKE A TEAM! The captain has been playing injured and a lot of people have been shi**ing on him, but it may just be for the greater good!!!

We should see what PLD looks like in limited minutes with Wheeler his first few games.

Harkins Scheif Ehlers 19
KC Stastny Copper 17
KV PLD Wheeler 14
MP Lowry Apples 10

JMo Poink 22
Forbort/Heinola DD 22
Stan the Man Poolman/Boolow 16

obvious

I can’t imagine watching these first ten games and thinking, “we’ve got to cut lowrys minutes in half”.....

lowry is night and day from last year prob being so close to his dad he doesnt wanna hear those long ride home dad talks about sucking and needing to play harder :D

ehlers elevates every line when hes playing well and shief had more jump than usual copp really making me think twice about calling him a bottom sixer.. well nah he still got stone hands!! lol jk

wheeler started slow but had his head on a swivvel after being lost on the first goal thats all he needs to do keep it simple and play

morrisey still just not the same

bross wall hell of a win

Yeah it's comical that goals keep going in when he's on the ice but neither of the minuses he got were his fault tonight.
Meh, he was easily in a good position to prevent that first goal by Tkachuk. He got caught puck watching and got burned. I thought it was far too typical of his play inside his own blue line as of late.

I'm not buying that Wheeler was injured to start the season. He was averaging 20:13 before tonights game. PoMo saying he's been fantastic and producing despite being moved around makes me question his ability to objectively assess the play of his favorites. -10 and 2 points 5on5.

Might be nursing something now, but why would PoMo overplay him earlier if he has an injury?
