Prospect Info: Jets draft RW Dmitri Rashevsky - 5th Round, 146th overall

  • Xenforo Cloud has upgraded us to version 2.3.6. Please report any issues you experience.
If we kept one of Matty P or Lewis then I agree Nash would of been unneeded. But we lost our entire 4th line . Need some veteran presence there. I guess Svechnikov could qualify but coming into camp there wasn't even a guarentee he would make the jets out of the PTO.

The main reason he is here.
His D numbers are great though.
Yup...

Man, you are just wrong. Tomato was also better than Nash in preseason. Prove to me they haven’t.

Based on that logic Wheeler should not make the team either. I think it's highly unlikely Nash signs with the team just be put on waivers in week one. . Nash likely knows he has a roster spot solidified and is saving it for the regular season.

I'm too old, stupid and well hung to learn about all these graphs. I just want to come in here and either bitch or praise shit
I knew there was a reason that so much trouble learning about the graphs! And I am not old or stupid.

Rashevsky signed a one year extention with Dynamo today which means he'll be in the KHL until (at least) the end of 2023 season. Our best case to get him to North America is the 2023/2024 season.

Also, with the early extention by Dynamo, it appears they see him as a big piece of their team. My guess is an AHL two way deal may not cut it if he continues to put up decent numbers. This is more likely to go the Kaprizov / Panarin route. Meaning, if the Jets want him on the team, it'll take a one-way deal and some real opportunity to come over.

My two cents

he would sign an elc

Good point. Of course, the CBA and ELC rules will dictate the type of deal he can sign. Perhaps better said, if the Jets want to bring him over, he may need to be assured there's genuine opportunity to make the NHL team.

Rashevsky will play zero games in the AHL the his career. He may also play zero NHL games but that’s yet to be seen.

Just a little over reaction to an 18 year old signing a one year contract haha.

He's 21 years old today. As an 18 year old he wasn't even drafted, same thing as a 19 year old.
My mistake. Either way he doesn't have the talent of Kaprizov or Panarin. A one year contract where there is very little chance he has the skill set to make the Jets, playing in the KHL is the right place for him to develop. I see zero indication that contract means he wouldn't play for the Jets if it was a possibility or that he will even sign one more nevermind 4 more years.. I'm sure the Jets are good with it. Probably even encouraged him to do it.

Sorry, I think you missed my point. If you're an established 1st liner in the KHL, you actually make decent money. The odds of leaving that situation for an AHL deal is slim. What I meant to say is that now it'll take persuasion for the Jets to get him to NA. The old 'spend a few years for the Moose' will be a tough sell.

Agree he is developing exactly where he should...but you have set a very high bar for success.
He is a very late bloomer on an excellent trajectory, so no telling where he will level off, but this comparison (from the main board thread) is encouraging.

Yeah, let him marinate in the KHL then come straight to the NHL.
