This team is just not all that fun to watch this year even when winning.

This game was just a microcosm of our issues this year.

-Dumb decisions by players. Two terrible defensive changes gave one of the most dangerous players in the league two clear cut breakaways. Laine makes a great play and sets up Morrissey to walk in and where are Connor and Scheifele, off to the side of the net and behind the goal offering zero chance at any potential rebound.

- The team is awful at supporting the puck. I don't know how often I saw a lone player with the puck in the nz with zero options to move the puck. In the offensive zone there is also terrible support.

-Our PK is brutal, just passively collapse on the net and let other teams pick us apart.

- I am saddened by how neutered our offense is. For such a talented team there is very little creativity. Just low risk perimiter crap and point shots with no one infront because our coach is too afraid to give up chances against.

We need a new coach but the team is just winning enough games to keep Maurice here.

As paying fan this product on the ice is dull and boring. I really think this team is stale and needs a reset.

We need a new coach but the Jets are winning just enough games to keep Maurice here.

That is becausr the Jets do not have a star player. Mckinnion is a star, game changer and impact player.
Who is like that on the Jets?
There are talented players but the Jets game changer is recovering from ankle surgery.
You would think that a 2oa pick would be a game changer.

I don’t know Laine is supposed to be a game changer. Ehlers was also playing like an all star.

He is some games but not consistently. His strength is his shot but if it is not on then he is just a good player who does not make other players better around him.

I thought he was our best forward tonight overall. Won pretty much every board battle, had some amazing passes and set ups, takeaways etc.

I wouldn’t put this loss on the 21 year old who was probably the best Jet.

Laine showing some frustration on the bench - having some trouble with his shot tonight and it's wan't the quantity (8).
Hope he works it out -

40 shots? was that the total or the combined velocity of the shots, or both?

I was really hoping the Jets would play Hendley to the Avs Werner "The Ferret". Take him into our confidence and play on his youthful naivety and eagerness to please attitude and exploit him for our use when he was most vulnerable. But, alas, we could not escape his unfound confidence.

Well getting Vezina level goaltending most nights is a bit of a game changer. Unfortunately it's a critical requirement of Maurice's system.

Laine back to standing in one spot, the spot all NHL net-minders figured out two seasons ago, he’ll be lucky to score 25 goals this season!

Lets see what he and the team can do with a new coaching staff, sure Chevy may have hamstrung them this year but whats the excuse for last years second half performance, Jets will muddle through this year good game bad game indifferent game but a coaching and coaching changes has to be in the cards.

I guess I’m the only one here who thinks the Jets actually played well against a VERY good team. The Avs look like the real deal.
I think the Jets ran into a hot goaltender more than they played poorly.
I agree, but if you read this thread we apparently only lost because of laine
