His reach has never been enough to allow him to pressure a puck carrier, even back against kids in the CHL. He either surrenders easy zone entries and uncontested passes near the net or he gets walked, that's how he's always been and it's what we saw in his other preseason game. He's a defensive liability, always has been and I've seen nothing to convince me that will change.
I agree - will be interesting to watch these two -Pairing Stanley and Heinola seems cruel. Smart though. Will help distinguish the best team player.
Will also be interesting to see how they handle offense vs defense -
Not sure it's going to be pretty but then again, this looks like a trial by fire when nothing counts. Nowhere to hide for either of them.
