Post-Game Talk: Jets buffalo Buffalo - 7:4 Final

Connor's going to get awarded a retro-active hatty.

I'm watching the replay over and over and it sure looks like he deflects the puck

Scroll over the progress bar from 46-49 slowly with your mouse, definitely looks like it changes direction.

I think you're right, but it's not conclusive enough to change at this point.

Anyhow, good work Perry Mason. ;)

just got back from buffalo (don't worry, Aavco Cup, i was well behaved. had 2 beer over 3 hrs. got my friend a bit drunk, i think. hahaa).
here are my observations that i made because i was at the game and you plebes didn't see this:

Buffalo's 50:50 draw totals are sad.
the announced attendance was 17000. that's a lie.
lots of jets fans.
the in-game Buffalo stuff is just awful production value.
some goombah finally got booted for being an obnoxious SOB.

Armia had a pretty bad game. lots of turnovers. Laine was pretty invisible. Mason looked shakey but still had 2 great saves. Jets really need to tighten up those zone clearance turnovers/lazy passes asap

I... I thought Armia was fantastic.

He is certainly not a Center when being forced to basically carry his two wingers in the defensive zone.

I don't disagree, but it's not like Wheeler is a Selke contender either.

Need to clarify the Bogo point, they don't seem to like what he does on the ice and his contract , they also not to fond of McCabe, Gorges, and Beaulieu, doesn't leave then much losing doesn't help.

Funny that. I'm not fond of McCabe either.

Lowry please come back. The team misses his stabilizing presence in their own zone (although Copp has done an admirable job filling in).

With Copp showing himself capable of running a 3rd line up the middle, I think the Jets should consider putting Lowry in the middle on the "1st line" and moving Wheeler back to RW. I would atl east try that, Copp is showing signs that he can hold his own with Armia on his wing. Lets give Lowry a shot on the top offensive line and see if that adds some defense to that top line.

If you did this where would you play Laine and Connor?
One of them would end up 4th line no?
Or are we shuffling MP back to Hendo and re-uniting ELL ;)

Good game by our team. Ehlers was shooting excellent wristers and i was really impressed about it. Wheeler was pretty bad tonight, he was losing the puck way often, but it was only one game and he will be at monster mode in future.

professors of seein in game ! :

first line didnt look good. Wheeler just horrible also O'Connor horrible. despite 2 goals by o ´Connor he couldnt bring anything to the line. without the goals the line did not have a single scoringchanhe. this is not a good game by o ´Connor despite these Points understand? listen: he is in line to bring things with his speed...but he didnt got to use it and he didnt bring any help at boards or anything. very weak game. passing and stuff all going wrong all time. same with Wheelers. this line all the time got lost in own zoun dont say anything else. wheelesr very lucky this seasons...of course huge amount of icetime helps him too....so : Wheelers very lucky to get any Points....he seems by every chanche get a assist ., very lucky. laine very unlucky, almost never anyone not score when he could have assist. today laine only one Point, he could be the one with 3 poitns today and the others with 1 or non but lucky was the one who got em. not saying laine good today. he seem yet yet and yet very upset at coaches beheaviours all season from not getting laine being able to be at chanhe for getting to win scoringleague and pointscorers Trophy. he has lost so many poitns and goals by not having to play so now he feels the seasons is kind of lost personally. maybe at playoff he tries harder again. also he looks also vareful there...not putting much efforts in boardsbattles...i Think he very careful not getting hit right now. he doesnt have to also, to try dumbly and hardly. maybe coach say stay careful and easy

Every time i read one of these posts i feel like i'm going to have a seizure or something , really hard on one's brain reading it .:skeptic:

Great game by the Jets for the first first 2 periods , 3rd was meh but a win is a win . I still don't have alot of confidence in Mason yet but as long as he is winning , all is good . Great games by Ehlers and Connor and Little . I also liked Dano's game last night , and when avgard doesn't bring up Buff in one of his posts , Buff must have played well .

Dominating at times, but also careless at times.....very much deserved win.

Ehlers was shooting excellent wristers and i was really impressed about it.

His second looked like "I guess that hole over your left shoulder is still open. Yup I knew it."

It's impressive what confidence can do to these guys. With right confidence, you are not trying to score. You'll just do it when you have the opportunity. In the other words, "when you are hot, you are hot".

now we know your drunk and didnt watch the game. armia was a boss most of the game. had a cpl turnovers sure but he alone made the sabres **** their pants numerous times including setting up copp for a tap in that he fumbled and dano infront. :)
i'm more concerned about what's currently the jets' biggest problem:
turning the puck over near our blue line while breaking out, and sloppy zone clears.
Armia was Public Offender #1.
when you score 6 or more goals a night, i don't care much about almost scoring chances in the O zone. i'm more concerned about cleaning up those awful will-bite-you-in-the-butt-come-playoff-time mistakes that have been creeping up more and more in our D-zone.
yesterday, Armia and Wheeler were the worst. sorry, man.

I just don’t get people singling laine out in this game. We must have watched a different game?
I agree. I loved his physicality in this game. He is trying to contribute any way possible. He scored a goal.

I think people want to see something magical offensively every time he's on the ice, and when he doesn't do that they think he's not playing well.

He's 19 and is doing a great job of learning the other components of the game he is not yet elite at. VERY happy with Patty L.

one more Buffalo tidbit:

as we left the game, there were SWAT team members guarding the street right outside the areana, machine guns and camo and all.
really, really, really odd to see and pretty ridiculous.
taxpayers' money hard at work in Buffalo, i guess.
and pretty much summarizes why i don't go to the US other than to go to buffalo on occasion

A couple of whiffs on the puck in the amount of minutes Armia played=bad game. Not even close, he played a great game on and off the puck, it was very obvious. Great along the wall, positionally sound, won the puck back consistently for the Jets, supported the play in all the right places, set up Dano with beautiful feed from behind the net, etc, etc.

I'm happy with the consistently good things he's been doing for the team, his increase in ice time is clearly a reflection on that.

The guy was good.

How good is Connor becoming. Great speed and skill. The theme runs through this team.
We were looking for an identity earlier this year. I think we've found it. We are big, fast and skilled.

On that note, I was looking at the height of our team, and we have a LOT of big guys for such a speedy team.

I'm so happy that we have gifs. They convey the perfect response. I use them all the time now :)

When it’s all said and done, Roslovic alone will be better than Kane. Ouch.
I agree. Roslovic did not play like a guy in his 3rd NHL game last night. I thought he was very good. I can only imagine after 10 or 20 games. He is almost doing what MP did for the 4th line. He's made it a very playable line. I hope we keep him up.

Quick thoughts...

CWL - Connor was outstanding. Quick on the puck and showed his top-end skill as a scorer. Laine still makes some young mistakes, but I like how he's starting to play a big game. I thought Wheeler was the weak link on this line. He hasn't looked very energetic the past few games. I can't figure out if it's because he's tired from the extra skating at C, or he's thinking instead of skating. He absolutely needs to be better at shift lengths.

PLE - Dominant game by this line. Ehlers was flying. Just a joy to watch. Perreault is starting to really gel with this line. Little is playing his best hockey of the season. He's looking fast and strong.

MCA - Another great game by Armia. He dominated a number of shifts. Copp had another strong game at C. Matthias played left wing (I got nothing else).

DHR - Another strong and tough game from Dano. He and Roslovic are going to click. Smart players that move the puck. Hendricks kind of slows them down, but was good defensively for the most part.

44-8 Really good game from Morrissey. Trouba had a couple of bad clears, but he continues to play a big and high impact game.

39-33 We really got good Buff tonight. He's still a challenge to play with, but he was smart and high impact.

5-57 Good game by Myers. Kulikov was okay.

Mason was fine, but didn't have to be more than that.

Good road win. Loving "the trade".

Excellent summary as usual Whilee! I'll just comment on the 4th line. Dano and Roslovic created some great chances and very nearly clicked at least twice last night. I really hope we keep this together for a while. It's a killer 4th line.

I can't really tell from that, but at the time I thought it was Kyle's goal.
