Post-Game Talk: Jets buffalo Buffalo - 7:4 Final

That was a weird game. Nice to see Connor and Ehlers pot a couple each.

My hat goes off to him but its becoming more apparent by the game that Wheeler isn't a center. I would also keep Lowry and Copp at C when Adam is back.
Yes, Wheeler has done an admirable job filling in, but it will be nice to have Scheif back. I wonder what the lines look like then?

lifting this post from other non importance shadowthread beacause this here easier for all to find. thanks: ; beacause of importance

put one man armia to first or second line. he is like boss here. bIG strong, assistKING, in the realworld also very good goalscorer but hasnt get to develope his scoring with highlife confidenceSPEED sort of. this team still very misshandled. cant have armia for lowerlines he is like the best player at this team and deserve toplineminites and offensive playmates and very rare superstarrespect.....has media at Winnipegs taken upp this material yet? i feel shame for this organisation. old tired men sitting there jiggling their skin? i bet so

Actual LOL this morning!

The lines should be
Perrault roslo wheeler
Connor little laine
Ehlers lowry armia
Copp hendricks Tanev/ Dano
No, no , please no :help: Do not, i repeat, DO NOT reunite Laine and Little. I wouldn't mind seeing a Laine - Copp/Lowry - Armia 3rd line, however. That could work and would do Laine some good. It would force Mo to mix up all the top lines, but hey, why not. Here is my wish list Mo, I hope you see it and take note :D

O'Connor - Wheelers - Perreault
Ehlers - Little - Roslo
Laine - Lowry/Copp - Armia
Copp/Tanev - Hendricks - Dano

professors of seein in game ! :

first line didnt look good. Wheeler just horrible also O'Connor horrible. despite 2 goals by o ´Connor he couldnt bring anything to the line. without the goals the line did not have a single scoringchanhe. this is not a good game by o ´Connor despite these Points understand? listen: he is in line to bring things with his speed...but he didnt got to use it and he didnt bring any help at boards or anything. very weak game. passing and stuff all going wrong all time. same with Wheelers. this line all the time got lost in own zoun dont say anything else. wheelesr very lucky this seasons...of course huge amount of icetime helps him too....so : Wheelers very lucky to get any Points....he seems by every chanche get a assist ., very lucky. laine very unlucky, almost never anyone not score when he could have assist. today laine only one Point, he could be the one with 3 poitns today and the others with 1 or non but lucky was the one who got em. not saying laine good today. he seem yet yet and yet very upset at coaches beheaviours all season from not getting laine being able to be at chanhe for getting to win scoringleague and pointscorers Trophy. he has lost so many poitns and goals by not having to play so now he feels the seasons is kind of lost personally. maybe at playoff he tries harder again. also he looks also vareful there...not putting much efforts in boardsbattles...i Think he very careful not getting hit right now. he doesnt have to also, to try dumbly and hardly. maybe coach say stay careful and easy

Yep that Connor guy was just lucky to get that puck up into the top shelf lol.

A couple of whiffs on the puck in the amount of minutes Armia played=bad game. Not even close, he played a great game on and off the puck, it was very obvious. Great along the wall, positionally sound, won the puck back consistently for the Jets, supported the play in all the right places, set up Dano with beautiful feed from behind the net, etc, etc.

I'm happy with the consistently good things he's been doing for the team, his increase in ice time is clearly a reflection on that.

The guy was good.
I would like to give this 5 likes. :thumbu::thumbu::thumbu::thumbu::thumbu:

I love that we put up 7 goals and the game's outcome was never in question. And that number nine didn't get on the board. In fact Kane seemed almost invisible most of the night.

It will be real interesting how they do this weekend. More of a test than Buffalo. A couple of all important inter-division games against tough teams.

Yep, time to demote Laine to the third line until he gets committed to playing. Someone mentioned trying Lowry on the first line when he gets back to defensively solidify that line - I'm game to give that a try.
Connor-Lowry-Wheels
Ehlers-Little-Perrault
Laine-Copp-Armia
Roslo-Hendy-Dano

Chevy has been criticized here quite a bit over the years. I think it has often been deserved too. He has his faults and has made his mistakes - but he still might just be the best GM in the league. None of them is perfect.

If he can successfully navigate through the Trouba situation and the pending cap problems - he is a GM savant.
Lets not go overboard here. Yes he's in the upper half and they have been drafting really well, but I need to see how he navigates the cap going forward before I anoint anything. And its tough to beat the job Yzerman is and has done in Tampa

Smell ya next year Buffalo, Jets out.

Just love that picture - someone needed to stand up to that punk & did Buff ever step up

I think Laine should be glued together with Hendricks. At least a demotion to the third line. He's lacking urgency. Good to see that he's putting up some PP points.

I'm really happy to see that Armia is playing ok. I wish his shot was a little more accurate though , he might be good for some 40-50 points per year when he hits his prime.

It looked weird to me, which kind of illustrates how hard it was to do. Pulling the puck in towards your feet and then going shelf short side while coming across the net requires a **** ton of skill.

One of the reasons I was so high on Connor was I watched him play allot in Michigan and he was a very lethal offensive player. Its not just speed which he has and not just a shot which he has......its a craftiness to how he exploits and counter punches and reads it. He has a bit of the best parts of Kyle Wellwood in his game. I am expecting a very big second half of the season for him if he stays healthy.......for the last two seasons he has started out at one pace and then at about this time of year his game take a jump productivity wise.

Over the holidays when I was in Arizona visiting my dad I had a chance to watch more games without the Jets and after watching two or three non Jets games the first thing I thought was.....man these good teams just do not have the amount of offensive weapons we have? I guess you kind of get use to it. There is a reason there were so many threads on the main board last season where other fans were trying to figure out why a team like Winnipeg was doing so poorly with the level of talent they had. The short and correct answer was crappy goaltending will sink pretty much every team in the NHL.

Anyways this season has been allot more fun.

Anyone questing how important Armia is needs to take another look at Ehler's second goal on the PP. There's a rebound trickling onto the stick of a Buffalo player who has the space to clear the zone but Armia comes flying in from the slot and tattoos him, knocking him off the puck. Little grabs it and feeds Myers, over to Ehlers and in the net, (albeit a perfect shot by Ehlers). That doesn't happen without Armia being a force on puck retrieval on the power play, it's effort like that that make him the great player he is. I swear he'd lead the lead in 3rd assists if such a thing existed. You can only see it at the very beginning of the video, wish I could find one that starts a little earlier.

That's what I said. If he can successfully navigate ...... Until then it is just 'he might be the best GM'. Chevy is off to a good start with the contracts for Fefe and Ehlers along with other good signings over the years. Trouba and Wheeler will be big tests.

Agree, it is tough to beat Yzerman.

No annointments needed. Almost everyone realizes that he has done a great job as Jets GM. Best GM in the league? Maybe not, but it looks like he is in very select company to me. You may as well admit what almost everyone already knows. He is a very patient and knowledgeable GM who has put together a team that most other fan bases envy.

Not nearly as much as he's going to like being traded to the Las Vegas Knights at the deadline. And yes I'm going on record with this as my prediction. The Knights will be buyers and Vegas is about the most Kane-like city on earth.

Kane and Vegas appear made for each other - but does he look like a GMGM type of player? Of course, I'm thinking longer term. As a TD rental? Looks like a good match. VGK have the assets to pay for him. Are they willing to give up those young assets to get him? Honestly, I'd be surprised. But then everything VGK is surprising.
