Post-Game Talk: Jets buffalo Buffalo - 7:4 Final

How good is Connor becoming. Great speed and skill. The theme runs through this team.

I wonder how some of the other Canadian teams are faring...

I remember very clearly a poster saying

There was no need for Wheeler to block that shot when he took one in the hand.

It would have been a 1 goal game with 5mins left if he didn't.

If this guy isn't in the running for the Hart and maintains this play....

Agreed. But some HFJets posters will soon no doubt mention he is having an "off year" :sarcasm:

Pardon me, I meant "by 2". I have Calgary over Minny on my not-at-all-for-real-money-no-siree Yankee and I got my results crossed in my head.
Ok. I left the house when it was 3-3 with only a few minutes left in period. Never thought florida would have scored 2. Allen is horible. Might cost them a playoff spot if hutton can't play lights out.

Oh well in that case, SURPRISE but Florida has taken the lead :)

Didn't pretty much every Canadian pundit have us as the worst or second worst Canadian team and out of the playoffs?

Yeah for sure this was the Oilers year. And the Flames were getting Jagr to help with their big push into respectability this year. And of course Toronto was set to win the Stanley Cup, the Grey Cup, and the Mushroom Cup too.

Wheeler should definitely be in Hart talk. As of right now there is a couple other choices that could be ahead of him, but he is at least a top 5 choice so far. Unfortunatly being Wheeler, and playing in Winnipeg to even be nominated he would need to be the clear
Cut winner
Ive always liked Wheels but have been hard on him over the years expecting more consistency as I thought he had another level. He has gotten there now and then some, I'm glad he shut me up as I can't think of a bad thing to say about him.........except he sucks at LW :D

I don't blame the Jets for losing interest in that game. It was the most uninteresting game in hockey history. Although I enjoyed watching all the goals.
Thing is it was interesting while the jets hounded the puck for the first 40 minutes.

Jets trolling the Kane/Bogo trade, in your face cold, dark, no-fi Buffalo!

Jets took the foot off the gas too early.

Connor, Ehlers, Armia, Perreault, Little with nice games

Laine still the one trick pony, scored but weak as ever even strength, don’t know what some saw tonight.

Mason one bad goal, not much chance on the other three, out of position a lot though!

Credit to Mo for setting entitlted Sharks threesome straight!

I know that the Leaf fans think they have the best young players and prospects but apart from Mathews they are wrong, I'll take Ehlers, Connor, Roslovic and Vaselaine , over Nylander, Marner, whoever, and whoever. Ehlers already a star but Connor is just scratching the surface and Roslovic looks like he belongs .

Quick thoughts...

CWL - Connor was outstanding. Quick on the puck and showed his top-end skill as a scorer. Laine still makes some young mistakes, but I like how he's starting to play a big game. I thought Wheeler was the weak link on this line. He hasn't looked very energetic the past few games. I can't figure out if it's because he's tired from the extra skating at C, or he's thinking instead of skating. He absolutely needs to be better at shift lengths.

PLE - Dominant game by this line. Ehlers was flying. Just a joy to watch. Perreault is starting to really gel with this line. Little is playing his best hockey of the season. He's looking fast and strong.

MCA - Another great game by Armia. He dominated a number of shifts. Copp had another strong game at C. Matthias played left wing (I got nothing else).

DHR - Another strong and tough game from Dano. He and Roslovic are going to click. Smart players that move the puck. Hendricks kind of slows them down, but was good defensively for the most part.

44-8 Really good game from Morrissey. Trouba had a couple of bad clears, but he continues to play a big and high impact game.

39-33 We really got good Buff tonight. He's still a challenge to play with, but he was smart and high impact.

5-57 Good game by Myers. Kulikov was okay.

Mason was fine, but didn't have to be more than that.

Good road win. Loving "the trade".
