Yup. Also I think Bones is likely trying to mold him similarly to how he molded Hintz. A defensively strong C with offense. So his game may look differently then what many expect it to.

Expected goal percentage highest in the team.

His offence will come and will look like it always had, just will take time. I am unsure what people are expecting. Underlying numbers are great, defence is great. The only thing is face offs and that will take time

Whalers has not been himself yet, when he gets clicking and Nino buries a couple chances the line will be fantastic

Yeah I'm not concerned. I more meant his style of game might be a bit more balanced like a Bergeron type and less heavily geared to offense like a Scheifele type. But that seems to actually follows his trend from last year as well. He was a pretty low event player last year and while early that is how he's trending this year as well. That might be what he develops into, a high end defensive player that doesn't need a high volume of offensive looks to rack up points.

It did seem like there was a number of empty seats not even cracking 14,000 is incredibly distressing to me. At this point I just block out the future of the team because honestly it does seem kind of bleak.

And honestly it's not all on the fans the ownership just expects people to pay out the nose and they don't have to earn their business. When you look at what the American owners do for their fans and to attract fans it's almost as if Canadian ownership hates their own customers

Watched the game with my mother, and she really enjoyed it. She gave me a big smile every time the Jets scored, so that made my day. The Jets kind of took one of my naps during the third period, but overall, they looked pretty good. I give the game four smiles out of five...

The Prediction Contest for the game against the Kings has now been posted, so get your guesses in. And a big thank you to @SUX2BU for volunteering to make the GDT for the LA contest. See you guys on Tuesday...:thumbu:

For the first time in a long while I'm not clenching or just waiting for the top two lines to get on the ice. All 4 lines are playing a role to a T and I am here for it

You remember how long it took me to buy into the team last season? That lasted all the three weeks in the middle of the season. I've bought into this team. They've shown that they can play a sustainable brand of hockey that produces results. They aren't getting by on being buried in their zone and counterattacking. They are showing a tenacity and aggressiveness in the offensive zone that I haven't seen in some time. They just need to upgrade the defense. Pionk or Schmidt has to go. It's that simple.

Yeah I don't know if Villardi puts up more points than PLD but the way he is clicking with that top line and helping them having positive impact at 5v5 like they haven't had in years makes us a better team than last year.

And I for one am glad that I don't have to scream at the screen for PLD taking a brain dead penalty again.
And Iafallo is a tenacious forward who plays with grit and has a high hockey IQ.

And Kupari is an upgrade over the Gus bus.

Agreed Agar, but he has all but invisible so far putting him back on the wing might take some the pressure off off him
I think the pressure can be manageable as long as our others lines are humming along which they are. Top line has been dominate so far and we have been getting much needed depth scoring. As long as that continues let him figure things out (if he can). If things start to dry up in the other places put him in the blender. That being said, the "wait and see" method is a favorite of mine so I am biased. :P

Nothing against Florida but who does this guy think his team is? They barely got in and then went on a hot streak in the playoffs last year. They then cooled down back to normal level and got destroyed by Vegas. Florida shouldn't be looking past any team in this league by thinking it'll be easy.
They're doomed if their top D pair is kulikov and miiiiikola

It’s nice to know we can role four lines. I think 55 looks great! Amazing on the face offs tonight, all over the ice, and even a fight! We get a 50 goal 90 point season and a 55 that can win face offs. I think we’re happy! It’s shaping up to be a good season, really interested to see what happens if you can bring in another puck moving D man in heinola once he gets healthy and I’m feeling very confident about this group. I think the best is yet to come. A lot of guys getting chemistry with each other.

I honestly don't know what more you guys should be expecting from a player two games into a posion change. He has an assist and his line is clicking at about 80 XGF% through two games. While he hasn't been flashy offensively he's been excellent defensively and was really driving transition play through the nz. I'm sure his coach is thrilled with how things are going so far.

His offense will pick up once he gets his reads down pat and ingrained. Some patience is required.

I am 100% with you, I am surprises by the dissapointment? Cole has looked really good defending so far and that is what he needs to do to solidify his position at 2nd line centre. He will produce more once he gets more comfortable with playing centre. So far I think this is working out better than expected. It would be a huge benefit if he can play centre for us. We have nobody else in the pipeline that can do it other than Maybe Lambert but that may never happen or it might be years away.

The line got constructed one game ago. Perfetti is new to this role at the NHL level. All three guys are strong possession players so I really like the chances of this line having a positive impact.

We don’t need Cole as a scoring winger on this team, we need him as a two way centre.
