I thought it looked bad. His leg hits the post just above the knee and his shin kind of snaps forward beyond what looks like the comfortable limit of the joint. If he's just out a couple of weeks or less then we're pretty lucky.
That's what I saw too, I am hoping it's just a bad charley horse but it might be a hyperextension. The good news is he did try to come back so that suggests it's fairly minor.

That third period should give the Stanley hate gang enough ammo to get through the next few weeks. Admittedly he wasn't good and had a selfish reaction to a stupid play which could have turned the game on us. Hopefully that's just a blip on what has been a very good run for him since returning from injury.

Perfetti looks absolutely lost out there, and Nik, despite figuring in on the scoresheet had one of his less impressive games of the year. We're really going to have to figure something out with that second line, despite what any of the fancy stats say. It's good that they are holding their own defensively but we need more production out of them 5v5.

Heinola had his best game in what seems like years. Hoping that he's really starting to feel better, stronger and more confident, and we'll see some more offensive assertiveness in his game.

Coghlan looked very good. Our bottom D defensive depth this year is stronger than any other Jets team before us. Hell, everybody bitches about Stan but if you go back to the days of the likes of Ran_y Jones, Bitteto, Beaulieu, older Stuart, Dahlstrom, etc. he's better than any of them.

There was a lot about that game that I did not like from the Jets. They spent too much time in their zone, and if it weren't for our savior we might have been behind the 8 ball early.

Liked that Arniel gave the boys 2 days off - you could see it in their legs. Now we have another 2 days, it's time to get back to work. On the agenda:
  • Being ready to start the game.
  • Breaking cycles and clearing the puck.
  • Getting closer together as a unit to support and break out.

I think the things that have made us so good are the things we've gotten away from with the schedule and travel and lack of practice. The good news is, it's easy to fix, they just need to get back to work.

Nice bounce back win.

Hellebuyck is the best goaltender in the NHL.

Imagine if that happened in a deciding playoff game? That's a penalty that should be reviewable. I know guys get that penalty all the time accidentally hitting a guy in the face but not because they were tripped and on said trip their stick comes up. What a great kill by the Jets though.
Buffdog made a perfect counter argument: If I grab a guys stick and smash it into my face, drawing blood, according to this ridiculous rule, that should be a minor for me and double minor for them?

Then you add in the exception to the stick control rule, the follow through (which I actually agree with ).

So why in a follow through you aren't expected to control where your stick travels, but when you are tripped or slewfooted you are? It's an idiotic rule.

Perfetti and Stanley were dogshit

A couple of penalty calls were horseshit

Helle is THE shit

Man Perfetti has been... really bad. Hoping it's a confidence thing.

Heinola on the other hand looked pretty good, but is also clearly suffering from a confidence issue. He should've lasered home that one opportunity he got in the slot.

Not sure if it's a coincidence or not that this is the same time in the season when Perfetti really started to struggle last year

Seems like it's taking him some time to get used to the physical and mental grind of an NHL season. To be fair, it's been particularly egregious this season and he's not the only one.

Iafallo had a really good game as did Pionk and Helle.
Stanley is regressing to his norm and could have easily cost us the game.
We need some size on that 2nd line.
4th line had a great game.
Chevy, trade for Cozens.

NSH sucks.
Regressing to his norm in one period?

Jesus.

Man, get Stanley out of the lineup for the love of God.
Anyone saying he is picked on and is playing better and well enough to be in the lineup is severely mistaken.
He simply does not have the hockey sense and speed to perform in this league. He fools some by looking ok against weaker teams and players, but is severely exposed against many.
He will kill us in playoffs if he is in.
Actually, Stanley's hockey sense is pretty good. If you watch his game instead of just waiting to jump on mistakes, you'll see he makes alot of very good decisions with the puck. His exit passes are probably the best of our bottom pair crew of 5. Consistently better than Heinola, and that's supposed to be his strength.

He's also shown a strong ability to get the puck through on his shots, and some offensive acumen rushing and passing in the offensive zone.

Yes, he makes mistakes, like all our players. His biggest weakness is his agility through his pivots, and that gets him into trouble on rush plays sometimes. He doesn't have great top end speed but I don't see that being a problem. His biggest area of opportunity is adjusting his timing to account for these deficiencies.

People just don't have the patience to look at Stans game as a whole, and actually try to judge it objectively. Not does anyone want to acknowledge that he might actually be getting better because it goes against their belief that he's just bad.

It's fascinating.

I'm trying very hard to be objective on Stanley and i agree he does do some things well but he looks very awkward out there sometimes and seems to run out of gas very fast. Ultimately the Jets see something in him and all i want is the Winnipeg Jets to do well so i hope he keeps improving. Oh and he has to stop using the wood Sherwood sticks because they are breaking on him alot.

stanley was propelled into 23+ mins tonight in an elevated role. he is a fine 3rd pair d, he's not a 20+ min player consistently. his third was brutally bad, but prior to that he was alright. ESV had a v nice set up on the PP, but not much else from the 2nd line players. the Jets need an offensive boost for that line desperately.

I'm beginning to think that the 2 man advantage can be a bit of a curse. It places a lot more pressure on the 5 team and they get so hyped up that they miss passes, flub shots, and don't execute the way they normally can.

Contrast the Kitties effort last night with the deadly efficiency of our PP.

Was at the game last night. Fun night, crowd was into it. Terrible call on Connor in the 3rd could have changed the outcome glad they killed it off

2nd line was out too lunch all game. All 3 guys look off kilter with each other. Easy passes and reads were missed all night. They need to get it together.

Stanley had his worst game in a while. Didn't handle the pressure as well as he has been, looked out of sorts early and it carried on all game. Yes it was a penalty but that f***er was driving the hit hard on Helly when he was going to freeze it and had been doing shit like that all night, hope you like your new teeth. As for Stanley, it was one game when he has been putting together a string of solid games so lets see how he rebounds on Friday

Heinola on the other hand had his best game this year. He handled the Preds forecheck and made a lot of quality passes and stepped into the play nicely. Hopefully he can carry this going forward.
