Well played game, and I'm going to say it... I thought the officiating was pretty good.

Same here. Solid officiating by refs. Toronto fans will probably disagree but they would complain about anything. They disappointed us im our building, now they can disappoint their fans in their building too! Lol

Loved the game, and beating the Leafs is always an extra special and appropriately festive feeling

I don't know how anyone can't have us as a favorite right now, we are the number 1 team in the NHL .
Vegas has a better point percentage, and they continue to own us. But I guess ‘a’ favorite makes sense, but not ‘the’ favorite.

I’m not negative nor do I hate the team.
They are having another great regular season, until they make noise in the playoffs it’s not wrong to say I’m reserved in my opinion of what defines success.
I didn’t see this pace coming

Yup it's all about the playoffs with this team the regular season they are having is phenomenal but for this team the real season starts with the playoffs and what they can accomplish.

It’s not about the playoffs for me anymore.

Regular season starts in October and ends in the spring so it is really here to take us through our winter months. It’s 82 games of ups and downs. The tournament in the spring for the cup is that thing you hope for once in your life but honestly it’s so far fetched I have decided to not worry about it anymore. If it happens it happens, if not then so be it. Playoff hockey is often just a week or two and it usually sucks for us.

Expectations are the thief of joy.

Yesterday was a great day to be a Jets fan as a stand alone event. I have let go of having how we do in the spring tourney impact my journey.

Please Understand
At some point, we're going to have to admit this team is a plurality favourite to win the cup.

Maybe another month at first overall and top quartile on the sports book tote boards will convince the world?

I don't want them to pay attention to us. It won't mean anything if we don't get out of the first round.

That third goal should have never counted, but other than that it was pretty decent.

Leafs have a problem in net now that Stolarz is injured and they are going to have to depend on Woll to carry the majority of the games until he comes back

Nevermind another Vezina, can we include Hellebuyck in the Hart conversation this year? I mean, is he not the perfect example of Most Valuable to his team?
I want to see him do it in the playoffs. I know the Hart is a regular season trophy but at this point, performing in the playoffs and winning a championship is all that is left to measure with this group.

I don't know, the ref was standing right there and obviously saw that the puck was still loose. I would agree with you if the ref wasn't standing right there.
It was between his pads and underneath. Schiefele essentially dug it out - if that was us we'd be livid.

I managed to get the game in and have another go at it before bed, and the difference last night was striking. Compared to the last 15, 16, maybe 17 games, the way we played was night and day. There was so much more effort, so much more give a shit out there.

One play really stood out to me: one of our players, without a stick, dove in our zone and managed to scoop the puck all the way down to the other end. Not only that, but he curled it perfectly so it didn’t go for icing. It’s these little moments that I watch for throughout the game—the moments that tell me where our effort level is at. Are we locked in? Are the players’ hearts in it tonight?

I’ve got to say, when the Jets are focused on the details and giving it everything they’ve got every shift, they’re probably the best team in the league right now. I’m happy to say that. But they’ve got to keep this kind of effort going. They can’t start coasting, buying into their own hype, and think they can cruise into the playoffs. That just won’t cut it.

I want to see him do it in the playoffs. I know the Hart is a regular season trophy but at this point, performing in the playoffs and winning a championship is all that is left to measure with this group.
Yep. No excuses from Helley this post season. If he plays at this level there really is no good reason why we shouldn't make it to the Cup finals
