Our 1st line isn't the best in the league, our 2nd line isn't the best in the league but we have the best team in the league . When you can get scoring from your 3rd and 4th lines and have a goalie like Helly you are a very tough team to beat. Now we boogie-woogie.......

I coached my son’s hockey team last year and if I had a dime for every time I harped on how important the F1 pressure (forecheck) is I would be sitting on a huge pile of dimes. This year I am helping with the team a bit and a slow F1 literally drives me bat shit crazy.

My point is that if it was legal I would clockwork orange my son’s hockey team and for 24 hours strait they would have to watch Kupari’s text book F1 play on our first goal over and over. Speed to the puck carrier after the dump in, play the body cleanly, separate Spurgeon of all people from the puck, cleanly put the puck on Iaffalo’s stick as he enters the high danger zone and watch his brilliant back hand.

OMG that was a thing of beauty. I wish they had an F1 battles won stat because now you’ve got my attention.

I'm so proud of this team going into Minny and winning that game!

Some were wondering if Kirill Kaprizov was going to play, well....

It doesn't matter if Kirill Kaprizov plays !!!

Hellebuyck is the best goaltender in the NHL.

The game turned on the Jets 2nd goal when those two Wild players teamed up on Iafallo.

I'm enjoying this run!

I'm a positive guy but the Jets will need to come up with a strategy to counter what some teams with speed and size are able to do to them.

It's funny, because the Jets do exactly the same thing to 90% of the league.

I think the Jets have to have the maturity to understand the game they're in. I think they want to counter so they're trying to force things which ends up feeding into the oppositions play and gives them more momentum.

Sometimes, the other team is just sharper, or has more energy. It's just a fact of a very physically demanding sport and way too many games.

As much as we love watching the Jets play every other night, that along with travel is brutal, and it's simply not possible to play the fast paced heavy game the Jets play night after night.

The best teams play the game they're in. If you're low energy, you might just have to play a really conservative game defensively. Sure, it's boring, but you can frustrate the other team and look to counter off of turnovers.

The great news for the Jets is they have the 2 things that can allow for this: the best goalie in the world, and one shot, elite scoring.

Helly stole the show but the Jets fourth line is unbelievable perhaps the best in the league.
Kupari has been a revelation this season. I'm going to say the Jets have the best bottom 6 in the league, and with a top six loaded with talent its easy to see why we're #1

How good would Eriksson Ek look as our 2c though? I hate his stupid face but what a package.

Move Iafallo up with Vladdy and Nick.
Dress Gus on 4th line.
If anyone is moving up for me it would be Kupari. That wicked forecheck and speed would really open some things up for Nik and Spaghetti.

Couldn't watch this one as I was too busy livin' it up on the Gold Coast :naughty:

However glad the boys sealed the deal in the 3rd.

On to the next!
Enjoy your water going the opposite way.

We teach our kids (A3) teams the dog, fox and eagle forecheck. Let's just say we have a lot of eagles. Teaching effort is hard.

It’s amusing to read the Wild boards and how they actually believe the Jets are the dirtiest team in the league.

Goon squad and boring trap hockey they said. That game had like 100 shots!

I wouldn't touch any of our 4 lines right now, 18-4 , 1st in the league, 89 goals scored, 1st in the league , 52 goals allowed tied for 2nd in the entire league and the team ahead of us has played 2 less games. Now those are stats i love to look at.

Maybe if 2 Minnesota players didn't try and goon it up on Iafallo they wouldn't have let that goal in, too funny.

I had it in my head that the Jets played on Tuesday.
Pleasantly surprised to find the Minny recording waiting for me after I got the kid to bed.
Happy for Ville to get to play.
He looked solid, has awesome skating and stood out in a good way.
I have no idea what our optimal D lineup is or how he fits into it but I'm glad we have that option.

One thing about Minny's shot count.
They seemed to have multiple situations where they got a shot and then two more taps into the same situation. Which was Helle's pads completely blocking the net.
Any touch on the puck that close to your net is dangerous to some degree.
But many of their chances we're really not dangerous at all.
When the Jets only had around 16 shots it felt like they had that many good scoring opportunities as well (some non-shot situations obviously).

I hope so too. He was pretty awful last night. He's single handedly killed the PP when he took Scheifele's place.
He had a bad shift on that PP but on the next Pp was instrumental in the goal with a good zone entry and the nice behind the back pass to Pionk.

He had an awful shift not an awful game. He was strong on the boards, got pucks out, and had a very strong third. He also set up Ehlers for a breakaway with a strong play in the neutral zone and a great pass.

Nice to get the win last night. Full marks to Helle, what a game by him.

The Wild looked really good out of the gate. They were skating well and they are a physical team. Some of that can be expected with the Jets playing another night on this road trip. But the Wild will be a tough out for any team that meets them in the playoffs IMO.

Really liked the Jets 3rd though. I thought they really shut things down and didn't give the Wild much of anything.

Great to get contributions from the 4th, makes a big difference when that happens. Also thought Heinola played about as good as could be expected after such a large amount of time not playing at all, but such a long time since playing in the NHL. Hopefully he can keep putting it together, sounds like he's worked very hard to get back.
