Also, one poster said he thought Scheifele maybe hurt his hand or wrist in that fight he had a couple games ago. Would explain why he's not taking faceoffs. He definitely is hurting somewhere, as he doesn't seem quite right. Skating good tho.

That would make sense. He obviously tweaked something if he isn’t taking draws.

I love the fact that our go-ahead goal was partially based on the fact that two Wild players decided to hang back and harass Iafallo.

The trade with LA -- giving them a useless Dubois -- might go down in history as the best we've ever made. Chevy has fleeced a few GMs in the past few years, but getting the Vilardi-Iafallo-Kupari trio plus a draft pick in return for an 8 million dollar paperweight will give the Jets important depth for years to come.
In hindsight, it's turned into an amazing deal for the Jets, but at the time it seemed pretty even. A win-win trade: a 25 year old 6'4" 225lb center coming off consecutive 60 point seasons in exchange for a skilled, but injury prone winger, and two depth pieces.

No Jets fans were celebrating the fact that PLD didn't want to sign here and was forcing Chevy to trade him to a short list of preferred destinations. And no one saw his disastrous 2023-24 season coming. So yeah, it's great fun to watch all the chips fall in the Jets favor, but every GM in the league would've made that deal for Dubois - including Chevy if Dubois was coming the other way.

I think a lot of GMs know that PLD was an inconsistent prima donna. That trade was seen as an LA overpay by many, many people. LA Kings fans were beside themselves with it then and it's still a regular point of discussion on their board.

I don't know , every GM in the league knew Dubois wanted out of Winnipeg so getting as much as Chevy did was amazing.

Yes, another poster thought it was his wrist that got hurt a couple games ago in a fight, which makes a lot of sense, as to why he's not taking faceoffs. Something is not right.
I would say hand or wrist or both, don't think he would be playing with a bad shoulder.

After Scheifele sat for 2min (when they had the double minor) it seemed like he missed two shifts.
I was worried that he was hurt.

Fortunately he played again.
I wonder what that was about.
Kupari took a shift with his wingers.

This wasn't an injury.

Scheifele started the 2nd period in the penalty box because of the coincidental minors with 1 minute left in the 1st.

He couldn't get out of the box until the next whistle after his penalty expired. But there were no whistles from 19:15 remaining in the period (with 15 seconds left in Scheifele's penalty) until 12:55.

So he was stuck in the box for an extra 6+ minutes, during which time Kupari played up with his wingers for a couple of shifts as Arniel had to shuffle the lines.

Of course it's still a regular point of discussion - it turned out so badly for them! I mean, it's still a regular point of discussion for us too. If PLD had not skipped a beat from his Jets days and put up 70 points last year in LA, it would've been water under the bridge.

PLD certainly had some red flags (the biggest one is not wanting to play in Winnipeg - that's a sure sign of flawed character in an NHLer)...but a C, 25, big, 2 good consecutive seasons under his belt in a place he didn't want to be - that's GM catnip.

You posted it after the loss to Nashville.
I am pleased you are following my posts. I enjoy the banter. I think anyone on here has the Jets best interest at heart but many are afraid to open their hearts for fear of having them broken. In any event , the next 3 will be tough. Helly needs to be at his best.

Its incredible isnt it? Theyre like the NHL version of Rider fans. Just clueless dipshits with zero self-awareness. Theyve had dirty pieces of shit like Reaves, Hartman, Middleton, and Foligno for years and WERE the dirty team?!?!? Give your f'ing heads a shake.
Rumor is Trouba might end up on the Wild to add to that group

Isn't that what being a fan is all about, you are a fan in good times and bad.We haven't had alot to cheer about when it comes to playoffs but so far this regular season has been unbelievable. We should enjoy this incredible ride that the Jets are on because it may never happen again for a long time.:thumbu:

I don't think it has anything to do with Scheif's hands or wrists as his shot hasn't suffered at all and he is not passing any more than usual.
Shoulder or possibly back would be my guess.

You should remember that a broken heart can always be healed.

But you have to list it as an upper body injury.

Sometimes a broken heart can heal. Other times, you just learn to not think about it too much

Oh good, one of the places worse than here :sarcasm:

I'm not following them, I just remember the negative tone and the I can smell a 4 game losing streak comment.
I mean, the team had a 17-4-0 record and had beaten some of the best teams in the league and you think they are about to go on a 4 game losing streak?
It sounded l ike you wanted them to go on a 4 game losing streak to be honest.

I wonder if Trouba would agree to come back to the Jets ? I think the Jets would be interested in him, at "their price." I just wonder if Trouba would come back to Winnipeg ?? Jets could use his size and grit on the blueline, but after all that's went on, it likely won't happen.

Chevy would want the Rangers to retain $ 2 mil per year if this was to happen.

Only caught the third. Saw the Jets were outshot and outchanced through the first two but appeared to be a vintage Helle game. I thought the Jets were a bit more sound defensively in the third to wrap up the W.
