If the Jets are the best team in the league does that mean they have some NHL ready players in the AHL who should be earning an NHL pay-check? The league is a watered-down mess with no parity.

Draft picks, every single one of them are all "i hope this draft pick turns out" i don't mind making a trade if Chevy thinks they will make the team better. Chevy always said at the beginning when we got the Jets back that he wouldn't trade picks when we weren't making the playoffs but when we did he would look to help the guys at the deadline. Some have worked very well some not but if Chevy did nothing every single year i don't think the players would like that very much.
Yup if he did nothing every single year I would agree . This being said he has made trades lately and it has not worked out playoff wise but if you can get a Nino and Names and retain them it works out . Last year did not help nor was there retention so you just lose the picks for very little .

I'm sure the jets would much rather get somebody with term but those players are going to cost more then a late 1st and are rarely traded around now + majority of players with term will have trade protection which makes it even harder for us to require

I get it and it’s why asset Managment needs to have more planning. We have had a hole at #2 centre for too long and could have filled it with all the waisted rental picks. Can’t keep patch jobbing the hole every spring it’s the wrong time of year to fill meaningful holes.

I'm sure the jets would have loved to have a long term solution at 2c like when they traded for PLD or last year when they traded for monahan then tried to extend him among other free agent centers, I think the only way we can patch the hole is if we trade for a rental and hope he likes it enough to stick around like nino/demelo/names

Yea I think that was the hope with Sean. I am a bit less sold on our need for help this off season. My guess is Chevy will spend to fill holes again this off season. My wishes were we use the assets to roster build but that’s not going to happen so I will sit back and enjoy the ride.

Lord knows we are due for some luck for once in the post season.

At least there is some light at the end of the pipeline for 2C and top 4 RHD with Yager and Salo

It always feels like they are going to win. This is a historic season for the franchise. Let's hope we are still playing hockey in June.
I’m learning to stop and savour the moment a bit more recently. I think I’m actually a believer now when I had been so discouraged after last year’s playoffs. This is new territory for me as a long time fan; they have an exceptionally good chance of finishing top of the conference if not the entire league. These are very exciting times!
