The GDTs can bring out the emotions. I have been privy to it in seasons past, and it can put a downer on your day. That’s fine - we all are “fueled by passion”. I really enjoyed the gdts in the early-mid 2010s when our team wasn’t the best so it was more just “enjoying the ride”

I have an opinion about our resident cat lady! It's a positive one but she wandered off about a week ago and hasn't been heard from since. Nor has kanadalainen or alphalackey or several others who's names I don't recall since I'm in my 80s.

Now it seems like there's far fewer of us than last year. I haven't been called creepy in months and one guy mentions regressing to the mean at least once a day. Board just isn't the same lately.
I didn't wander off. Just been insanely busy. Tons of term-end work, some social stuff, and prep for my cross-country flight on Thursday. Great news, I have a ride to airport which will shave two hours off the day long ordeal.

Edit: I'll write a private update tonight when time permits.

Back when I had my season tickets (2011-COVID) we learned to avoid the Habs games.
Jets usually played poorly and seemed to ALWAYS lose (I know they didn't but it felt that way).
Plus the amount of posers in Winnipeg wearing Habs gear and colors was always disgusting.
Watching this game on TV was a sad sight in that there was more red in the stands than blue.
Some of that was Santa suits but $%^& those people for wearing that (whether it was intentional or not).

Unless you are from said city of the visiting team or have a close relative then you have no business being at a game in another teams gear. You're a waste of space...

I think every Original Six team has their followers. Hawks for sure, Bruins as well, maybe less Detroit and the Rangers (how people can become Rangers fans is beyond me). But it's Canada, the era I grew up in Toronto and Montreal were on every Saturday night. There wasn't a late game until Gretzky got traded to the Kings, though you'd catch the Jets in Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver quite a bit in those days, when they played 8 times a year. You didn't see a lot of other teams unless they played the Jets (on Saturday) or you watched the playoffs until the end. And I am not that old:(. You combine that with Jets 1.0 losing culture, and then I can see how those two teams still have a lot of followers.

It took me probably until 2015, and Paul Maurice, to become a true undivided Jets fan. That was the year I gave my Patrick Roy autographed Canadiens jersey to my uncle at a Jets game. Because all those years without a team, hockey fans had to adopt someone. And that's kind of the story in Winnipeg, for a long time everybody had another team they cheered for. And like exes when the Jets came back there wasn't the same feelings, they were losers, but a couple of good rounds and the feelings are back.

Yeah, we write in private convo once or twice a month.

Back in 2022 when she showed up I got shat on here for asking to many personal questions but she was okay with it and baited me most of the time. Had a great back and forth going but too many guys here complained so we took it private. Mostly family gossip and no more pics since the original 3 but I keep asking lol anyway.

These SN broadcasts are tiring, I get it Blah blah blah gotta appease the Quebec masses and Winnipeg doesn't move the needle but the Jets are in first overall and the Habs are a dumpster fire.
I find it quite amazing that the Jets do not have a single featured game on Hockey Night in Canada this year. This would have been a good one, but HNIC was from Detroit, featuring the Leafs.

Toronto, Edmonton, Vancouver, and Calgary all have their own SN broadcast teams. So this is a preview of the playoffs, will either be Bartlett and Galley, or Singh and Garrett, take your pick. I'd probably choose the latter, even if it means hearing the box of punishment more often.
