So the Flames need 7 extra points in the last 9 games to overtake us. They probably need to run the table now and even that might not be enough.

Yeah another win by us and a loss by them should all but sink them.
It's really the Preds that concern me as their goalie is doing his best to singlehandedly carry them in.

Oh i agree but Nashville plays some good teams in the last 12 games, they aren't going 12-0 that's for sure.

Just because they have a few prominent passengers, doesn't mean they didn't deserve the last two wins.
No, but out pointing them helps. As well, dropping Seattle to the 2nd wild card would help also

Small cushion over the Flames. There is no cushion with Preds having games in hand. Would all boil down to last Jets vs Preds game.
Tomorrow's game is in LA, the Dude's home town and it's a afternoon game, perfect because people don't start waking up until 4pm there.
When you are wide open in the slot and the thought of shooting doesn't even cross your mind, you pass it away to a guy that's covered and in a worse shooting area you need to go to the 3rd or 4th line.

They do appear to be the main challenger now. Interesting that over the last 10 games we have gone 5-4-1 and Nashville have gone 5-3-2.

Literally rich, spiritually poor - to be precise.
Its likely not enjoyable to experience the slide down the talent rung as hard as he has. Equipped even with a small modicum of a conscience, his salary *underscores* his spiritual poverty. Its a spotlight directed straight at him, becoming his personal albatross.
Don't mistake this observation for overt pity, but you've got to know he's not having any fun out there. My main concern is that it psychologically slows down any rebound in his play, which fecks up his linemates, and ultimately the play of my team.
IMHO he is transitioned to a third or fourth liner. This is wasteland country for a guy who has habitually ruled the roost.

Wheeler used to routinely make passes like that, I know that hasn't been the case recently.
I'm not saying he shouldn't be on the 3rd line, and when Perfetti comes back that should absolutely happen

The challenge for Nashville is they have to pull off a sweep of the games they have to make up. They need 6 points out of those 3 games to overtake us for the last playoff spot.
Exactly. We also hold all the tie breaks in terms of RW or ROW.

LA will be tough, San Jose has to be payback. Jets need to get a couple more points on this trip and concentrate on catching the Kraken rather than looking back at the Predators and Flames.
