The Hockey News was incorrect when they ranked Stuart Skinner as a better goaltender than Connor Hellebuyck.

I'm beginning to think they may have made a misjudgment there.

Jets got the W, but without Helly that was definitely a tick in the loss column.

Played well the first half of the game, then Colorado pushed and the Jets just couldn't keep up.

Shutout # 40 for Helle. That's an okay round number.

Historically, the most shutouts by an American born goalie:

Jonathan Quick (60), Ryan Miller (44), Craig Anderson (43), Frank Brimsek (40), and John Vanbiesbrouck (40)

I'll take the 2 points but that was tough to watch. Looked like the same team that got pumped in the playoffs and a bit of a sobering reminder of that despite the record so far.

I'll give Arniel credit for proactively making the line switch which did help a bit in the 3rd, previous Jets coaches waited to get scored on or something bad happening before making that switch.

Helle was the difference.

I can't help but think two things.
One is that this game was a huge one for the Avs. They need to right the ship, and quickly, and this would be the one.
Two is that although we can easily point to hellebuyck as a main reason for the win, I think Avs will be saying that was the best game georgiev has played this year, and he kept them in it.

Not a game that you win most of the time but... it's still a win I guess because Hellebuyck was Hellebuyck. I think we must have pissed off Georgiev last year by riding his anus in the opening part of the playoffs because, ever since that, he seems so dialed in when he plays us. That amazing cross crease save he made towards the end seemed almost personal, haha.

I've seen him play in other games this season and he definitely isn't great.

The guys have gotta figure out how to match the Avs pace next game though because this felt like it got out of control at a lot of times.

That one was all Helle after the 1st. Sensational game!

The Avs top 5 rotation is the beat in the league and the one rotation our third line really struggles against because they can match their size and strength and battle level. Plus they have all world skill and speed.

The Avs might just be the worst match for us in the league.
