Just curious...where do you stand on board ads or ads on the ice? Have you painted parts of your TV white to avoid these as well?

Neither have the Sabres. I'm praying this is what it is, and not that they're lazy or holding off or going to spring them on us for the season opener.

It's f***ing guts the reason you have a goddamn team. They either represent GooglePornhubGeicoAmeritradef***faceCorp, or they represent their city. They do not do both.

Then when it was on the playing surface, did you say “at least it’s not on the glass”?

Then when it was on the glass (digitally), did you say “at least it’s not on their uniforms”?

Then when it was on the helmets, did you say “at least it’s not on their jerseys, to be specific”?

I don't like all the ads, but they aren't tarnishing the jerseys in the same way an ad right on the jersey does. I'm okay with the Adidas ad because the jerseys are literally Adidas jerseys in the same way I'm okay with a Ibanez guitar with an Ibanez logo that a band chooses personalize with their own name. There is a reason musical instruments that have been used in promotions for businesses like TD don't sell or hold any value.

A jersey or team with an RBC or Milk ad holds less value to me. That is how I personally feel and that feeling is likely not going to change.

Fair enough. I heard on Twitter yesterday that team stores will have the option to add the ad on jerseys or withhold them. Hopefully that is true for people purchasing jerseys moving forward.

I was ok with it all because I understand that the league is trying generate more HRR which in turn provides more resources to the league and players to compete with the other big pro sports leagues across the globe. NBA started putting ads on their jerseys/shoot around shirts in 2016 - it's 2022 and their jerseys have not become a billboard like European hockey teams but yet some on this thread think the world is ending.

I think we talked about this over on our forum but with the 40th anniversary patches being on the shoulder I think we will see ads on them at some point this season.
