Upon further evaluation of Jeff Skinner’s historic 8 year $9 million extension signed back in 2019, it was discovered that the contract had been altered after being signed by Skinner.

Former Sabres GM Jason Botteril had supposedly drooled on the contract after Skinner signed it, causing the $6 million AAV amount that was then agreed upon to closely resemble $9 million.
