he's certainly played this season like a guy that wants to be traded. Will be interesting to see how GM's value him as you have to worry at his age did his game just fall off a cliff or is it becaue he's on such a shit team. He's owed 20M over 3 years after this season, if the Habs wait till after the July bonus it drops to 17M but still a lot. They could always eat some cap though for the right offer.

In the previous 2 seasons he put up 82 points in 126 games, which is a .65 ppg which over 82 games is 53 pts. But this year it's just been a total disaster for him.

I don't see his acquisition cost being very high after the year he's had as well as age.

A team I could see interested in him is Philly TBH. They have a large core of their defense hitting Free Agency this summer and without Ellis in the lineup their top 4 is complete shambles (hence their record this year). I think a top 4 of Provorov, Ellis, Sanheim, and Petry would be a lot more consistent than what they have now. Also if Ellis were to suffer another injury Petry is capable of playing those top pairing minutes in his place.

Letang and Petry running the right side would be pretty sweet assuming the old Petry comes back and Pittsburgh is close to his family.

Somewhere on earth in a hospital
If Montreal retains 50% he maybe has some value but certainly not a lot. 34 Year old Dman who's fallen off as much as he has the year is going to be a cap dump essentially.
Don't think he has fallen that much.
Wife and her 3 kids hate quebec rules and went back to Detroit leaving Petry alone and frustrated. Pretty sure he didnt see it coming. Petry been playing like he doesnt give a shit and everybody on the habs board can tell you that. He's unhappy

Perhaps there is maybe a year too much on his contract but he still can play good hockey on a well balanced team , but im sure habs will take another bad contract in a trade for Petry which would help a playoff team.
