Good to hear. Going with a successor who is groomed internally for years would be the correct way to do it.

Habs are rumored to have had Louis Robitaille from Gatineau Olympiques as their first choice. I guess Robitaille who just started last season with Gatineau wanted to keep going for a while and enjoy the opening seasonin a brand new arena with some very good prospects in hands.

Principle's Office
It all started with Corey who hired him without thinking after having trashed Savard and Demers. Houle is a good soldier who accepted the job to help the org.

...and then hired a guy who was quite possibly the worst coach this Org has ever had and then let said terrible coach run his Franchise player out of town...Houle is just as responsible, imo...

If Corey would have had any vision and good sense, he would had NEVER hired Houle to start with. The whole hockey world and fans were totally blasted by that decision.

He definitely has an impressive track record. It's really interesting that he has experience coaching in the NCAA on top of the Q and the AHL/ECHL

Never understood, other than daddy, why he was drafted in the 4th round by the Habs. So he has 5-6 years in the Q as a head coach and 1 year in Bakersfield while they were still an ECHL team. Meh,

Seeing how much experience Houle has and hearing him speak, I think that might have just preferred Houle. Maybe Robitaille will be offered an assistant job. I still like the idea of Burrows going back to the AHL... I think in the long run it will be better for him and the organization as well..

Burrows might follow his buddy Bouchard in SD. He has no valid contract for the moment.

Robitaille was too green for this job. Never understood why his name was there.
Houle will follow what the big club wants, which, by some accounts, Bouchard had some problems with.

Not very glowing list

NHLers:
Jujhar Khaira
Zack Kassian
Caleb Jones
Laurent Brossoit
Jordan Oesterle
Jesse Puljujarvi (though Finland changed him)
Ethan Bear
Kailer Yamamoto

Failed prospects:
Tyler Pitlick
Anton Slepyshev
Phil McRae
David Musil
Anton Lander
Ryan Hamilton
Griffin Reinhart
Mitch Moroz
Ty Rattie
Tyler Benson
Cooper Marody
Ostap Safin

Jury still out:
Dmitri Samorukov
Evan Bouchard
Ryan McLeod
William Lagesson

It's probably more than the Habs did in the same period though :o

This thread is funny. But not in a good way.

Aside from @Vachon23 and @Whitesnake, nobody here knows the man. Yet, what I read here about his results at other levels of hockey, is just a reminder that a large portion of posters here are posers and trolls.

They know sweet f*** all. But just go against the grain, because, hey! That's my thang, right?

Houle has a good resume. I suspect he's also been choosen because he's not an attention whore, and he doesn't have the immediate ambition in becoming the next shiny new toy for the NHL.

And he'll tow the company line. Which, as a boss, is key.

And he knows how to deal with kids. The way he dealt with the situation with l'Armada is what I'd be looking for.

Great experience. We'll see who will surround him.

And I was surprised to learn how much Scott is in charge.

So JF Houle said that he's going to use the same system as Ducharme so players can adapt easier when sent up. Just wondering what the difference is between Bouchard And Ducharme system was?
