Berube certainly wouldn't clear waivers.

then trade him & get whatever you get for him. it doesn't matter if his value is low. Get out from under the 3 headed goalie monster mess, leave your team with the best 2 goalies it has, and hope the team can go on a run this year. Sorokin is going to come over soon enough, so he's the goalie of the future. no sense in hanging on to a guy like Berube.

Ottawa had probably better start phoning right away. Hammond down and Anderson's wife got diagnosed with cancer.

Halak would cost more than Greiss or Berube. He's a legit starter. With good numbers. I'd expect a 2nd round pick. Anything less and I wouldn't move him.

i'd be upset if the isles basically threw away the season for a 2nd round pick. maybe i'm selling Greiss short, but I think dealing off Halak indicates they are punting the year.

Early on it looks pretty bad, they cannot score at all and the Devils and Flyers look much better.

I'd be upset too. I'm talking if they were dead set on moving him. They would really have egg are thier face if they traded Halak and then Greiss left as a UFA

Halak is still a good goalie wont take long for La to get him

I guess they could LTIR Quick for some space but then they'd be SCREWED when Quick comes back, PLUS they'd be doubly screwed for the kids' raises next year...

It makes sense in theory but not at all in cap.

No one is probably taking Niemi or Lehtonen, so you are either creating a new 3 goalie rotation to anger Walsh some more or you have to send one of Niemi or Lehtonen to the AHL, which is a big call to make.

Isn't Halak his guy though? Why would he care.
I could see the Isles not going for it but if Snow is pissed off enough...or DAL sweetens the pot enough...

Anyone who thinks Walsh went on his rant without Halak prompting him to is out to lunch. Hard to imagine that Halak is happy with the 3 goalie situation.

It's clearly intentional, but difficult to understand. If your client wants a trade, then ask for a trade - and take it public if that is the strategy you opt to employ. There is certainly precedent for doing so. Going about it this way just makes the agent look like an ass hat. Walsh has been utterly unprofessional for a decade or more.

that's true, but it's unlikely that Ladd will go scoreless all year. It's unlikely that JT will be well mediocre all year. By no means is this team a world beater, but they're certainly a playoff contender.

I'm not against giving up on the season at the deadline. or even a month before the deadline. but we're 7 games into the season. it's too early say say F it, we're done.
