Okay and I think I concurred with you on the second part as well. If this happens, Jags may put up 80 points. He wasn't happy with the 65.

Jags put up 67 with a rotating cast of 4th liners on one wing for most of the season. With a talented LW and Trav actually finishing some of the 15 chances Jags sets him up for nightly, he could easily be a PPG+ player.

I think Zajac had a bit of difficult time figure out Jagr this season. I think the experience of playing with Jagr for two seasons is going to make Zajac a better player and I also think they will be more cohesive this season...Not necessarily more productive, but more in sync.

Jensen is actually less accomplished then JJ. He's AHL #'s make one question why he was even with the big club, let alone the top line.

If you watched him you would understand. At one point in his AHL season he just got it. He posted 14 goals in 25 games prior to his call up. He started on the 3rd and 4th lines but created scoring chances and forced Torts to move him up and give him more ice time. He was the very best Canuck player on a few nights.

Thank you for the site. It is a vary sad personal life story. I knew the story for sometime, I believe I saw it on TV a year ago. As a surviving double cancer patient, myself, I understand what they went through as a family. There are many sad stories about cancer patients everywhere.

The Masterton:

"The Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy is an annual award under the trusteeship of the Professional Hockey Writers' Association and is given to the National Hockey League player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to hockey."

By definition I don't think it would be a joke to award this to Jagr, he has met the criteria.

Moore would qualify for a sympathic vote.

I am glad I don't have to decide.

Jaromir Jagr's base salary will be $3.5 million for next season with bonuses (games-played) that could bring it to $5.5 million.

Jaromir Jagr contract breakdown: $3.5M base salary, plus $2M games played bonus. ($250k for every five games from Game 10 to 45).

and about 30 total points. Given his draft status, that's pretty weak. Maybe "very unproductive" was an over step. But he has been far from impressive.

You need to check out posts #168 and #179 and understand how this kid cannot be judged by looking at his historical AHL numbers. It is what he has done lately that makes him much more impressive. He had to adjust to North American hockey. When it clicked in, he became very impressive.

The Canucks' fan base has already penciled him onto next season's roster even though without a deal being made their roster can't handle him (no room among signed contracts). He was the best player on the ice for Vancouver in several of those 17 games at season's end. He is going to make some team very glad they signed him. Most likely it will be Vancouver, but at the moment with all their upheaval, someone might just be able to snatch him while no one is looking.

I love it. Not sure if anyone saw Jagr's interview after the last game of the season, but he said that he will always sign a one year deal going forward. He says that it's an extra push and extra motivation for him to stay at the condition he is in and that he likes the added pressure on himself. The guy is really something else.

Here's the link to MSG to watch, in case anyone was curious. It's the last video on the bottom.

On the way to status quo for next year. Not taking anything away from the season he had last year but what does this move really do for the team? Just dreading brining the same stale group back next year.

It brings back last year's best forward. Who knows what next year will bring, but bringing back Jagr was necessary. Why does Jagr being re-signed give you the impression that things won't change?

how did I know you'd be the one to find the negative in this?
