Another classy post !

See you guys said the same trash about Ovechkin last year ! Where is Ovechkin now ???

It's not my fault that Malkin said that.

He has to back it up and so far he's done nothing.

It really has nothing to do with class.

I'll tell you where Ovechkin isn't... polishing his 2005 WJHC gold medal.

Wow I did not expect the score to be like that. Why doesn't Russia just go home now? Geez. Are they even playing well at all and just getting bad breaks, or just lifeless out there? I can't see the game.

That was a HORRIBLE break against Russia early in the game but it is Russia's players/coaches fault as much as it the officials. Nobody noticed it went in at the time of the goal and if the players don't see it and react, how can you demand the refs to? It all happened very quick and given the angle and Pogge's position, it was very difficult to detect. A shame but it happens.

However, don't try and blame the outcome on that play. After the non-goal, Russia came out FLYING playing their best hockey of the game. Canada weathered the storm and came back strong on their own. The difference has ultimately boiled down to superior goaltending by Canada.

Now that call was wrong. A stick in the belly is just an old Russian way of greeting

IIHF Rules are giving ref to right count goal even after a brake. So it was totally biased call. Just showing total biased reffing or lack of knowledge.

I'd like to see the website link if you don't mind. Just curious as to how they handle a non-stoppage situation.

Well take away one incompetent goal judge and one incompetent referee, and you have an even game, with Canada having considerably superior goaltending. Canada deserves to be up, but definately not by 4.

I am not happy about the goal missed. I think the Russian reaction to getting beat soundly is poor however. Total lack of composure.

Really? They said the complete otherwise on the broadcast. If that IS the case - which I doubt - than, yeah, that is b.s.

But I find it absurd to think that they went upstairs, told the ref it was a goal and he simply didn't count it. (and then Russian coach didn't get kicked out after being told the circumstances. Because I sure as hell would have LOST it if that was the case)

This thread is taking a wonderful turn, great job at excercising some selfcontrol guys. It's not like any of us wanted an update of the game or anything.

Player of this period goes to Blunden.

Staal and Bourdon for the first period, but Blunden was clearly the victor here.

You said it.

Just 1 more period and 20 more minutes until back-to-back Gold Medals for Canada, and back-to-back Silver Medals for Russia.

Let's finish the game strong Canada!

This game could get ugly in the third if the Russians get frustrated...

Maybe a bitter Russian squad will start a bench clearing brawl in a pathetic attempt at getting Canada disqualified in the third?

Speaking of crooked officiating, this refereee is clearly biassed towards the Russians since he just ignored a blatant stick to the face of a Canadian.

I'm so proud of these Canadian kids overcoming both the Russians and the referee.
