After the Code red occurred literally nothing Bertuzzi did prior or after mattered. Bro is McSorley 2.0 and i hope karma finds him some day.

Benn without a second thought!

And Bert in 01-02 was even better in the second half of the year and led the league in points per game. Given the competition, Benn’s Art Ross wasn’t much different than a 3-5 place finish a lot of years.

Not really, the year before Benn's Art Ross, Sidney had 104 points and Getzlaf was second with 87 points. The year after Benn won Kane finished first with 106 points and Benn finished second with 89.

Scoring started going up two years after Benn won the Art Ross.

Benn’s Art Ross was in line with the 2nd place finishers in surrounding years, but all those years 2nd place finishes were weak finishes that were far back of the Art Ross winner. For example, Draisaitl is currently scoring 28% more than the 10th place scorer, and over the past 6 years before that the 2nd place finisher has had leads over 10th place of 43%, 25%, 18%, 35%, 24% and 21%.

Benn’s win had him finish 19% over 10th and his 2nd place finish in ‘16 saw him finish 15% over 10th. Getzlaf was at 10% in ‘14, and Tavares, who finished 2nd in Benn’s win was at 18%. Those 2nd place finishes were quite low.

Meanwhile, Bertuzzi finished 5th in ‘03 but was 14% above 10th place in scoring.

Benn's peak was from 13/14 to 17/18 in which he was 3rd in scoring. During that time he won a gold medal and an art ross. He and Ovi were arguably the best LW'ers in the game for a few seasons.

Bertuzzi's peak is pretty good too, he was a scary powerforward with finish. But Benn has the edge imo.

Career wise, there's no debate to be had.

Benn was a really good player at his peak. Sorely underrated due to the state of the league’s low scoring environment at the time.
