If that was me, I'd be embarrassed. I like personality in interviews, but to me this just looks dumb. Same with that awful goalie hug thing in Boston, or that.. whatever it is they were doing in Carolina. Just comes across as immature.

Don't @ me, it's just my opinion - you do you.

I would say that you could easily argue that any premeditated celebration communicates disrespect, but all celebrations would be a tough claim to support.
Certainly. At this point though, I think it becomes subjective, as some will have their own views on what would or wouldn't be disrespectful, or they simply find a celebration like this "cringe".

How fans perceive a celebration, particularly due to how emotionally invested we may become in a game, will often differ from how players on the ice, on the field, and so on see it. I see it as expressing themselves and showing personality and character. Other people take offense to it and wish for a player to be knocked into next week (or worse). It's all a matter of perspective.

I remember when players celebrated with a stern salute and an evening shave at center ice. It’s a shame these players show camaraderie and/or emotion. Soft, very.

You guys are so f'n lame. This is a game where you can bareknuckle box, not chess. I'm in my late 30's and love to see different players celebrating. I didn't know the reference initially but someone dancing when they win a game is joyful and if you get mad you have something bigger to worry about. If he did 'The Twist' maybe you would understand it better. Golf is cooler at this point. Also the salty fans getting mad at the Wings for winning again are showing their pathetic lack of cognitive reframing.

I think there was a movie about Hockey's table manners at some point:

Personally, I'm just amused at how many people are pretending to never have heard of the NFL in order to dive into the "kids these days" shtick
