Considering how much he's been improving this year, I can only imagine how dominate he'll be next year. Good lord.
He was almost playing keep away against the best teams in the conference at the NCHC frozen faceoff.Considering how much he's been improving this year, I can only imagine how dominate he'll be next year. Good lord.
Not sure if it was a Simmer tweet or if he said it on air, but apparently he reported that Sanderson is likely returning to UND next year

This is probably for the best though i selfishly want to see him play with Ottawa ASAP, i do wonder if winning the frozen four might change his mind though.
Hopefully JBD can integrate into the team smoothly and Sanderson will be able to join a year later
I could be convinced either way tbh. It does seem odd he'd make his mind up 100% before this season is done though.
Remember when you were 19? Deciding what I wanted for dinner was tough, let alone a decision like this lol.
Returning to ND is the right decision. Have a Cale Makar type season and then step into the top 4 in 2022 with, hopefully, a new front-office and coaching staff in place to help him develop.
Given it's Simmer, I have my doubts about the validity of that statement.
Berry might be a bit biased as to whether he thinks Sanderson should play another year in UND...true. I bet he’s just going by logic but I think there’s enough evidence there to suggest he’d go back. Brad Berry heavily implied he should return. Just look at how well he played with JBD out of the lineup. That’s the type of opportunity he’ll consistently get next season. And another chance to dominate at the world jrs. I also don’t have any confidence that our AHL/NHL team can develop him properly (they’re doing a fine job with Brannstrom right?) so he 100% should go back to UND

Bran was getting sat and sent down because he isn’t “coachable” when the team is up by 3 he keeps going for goals when he is asked to stop it with the same high risk pass in his own end he keeps trying it. He will be fine.
That being said JBD did not sign yet I hope they all don’t run for the hills. It seems odd they don’t want to turn pro.

JBD can't sign a pro contract yet he is still playing NCAA hockey, UND are in the Frozen Four tournament. It's when his season is completely over that he will sign.
He went back to school because the UND has a great chance to win a championship so both he & Pinto wanted to go back to win a championship. It looks to me anyway like a great decision on their part & has elevated both their games & value. JBD won Defensive Defenceman of the yr in their Conference & Pinto won both the Defensive Forward as well as best forward in the Conference & he is up for the Hobey Baker Award as best player in college hockey. By all accounts they had a great yr so far, I'm not to concerned that he won't sign.He didn’t want to turn pro this year when they tried. I hope he signs he better
5 posts back lol
I hope the Sens do not sign Gudbranson. I would rather retain Reilly. Reilly I would. If he is good enough to make the roster next year play him in the NHL. Guys who are ready can still develop in the league especially a league with way more structure. I can see us resigning Gudbranson for a year to be his partner.
Rushing Sanderson could have terrible consequences. He IS NHL ready and can comfortably play in our bottom pair now but so can Seider play in Detroit's top pair right now; yet he's in the SHL. Sanderson can perform and succeed well next year but I have never heard of a prospect busting from being overripe but I have heard of one due to being rushed.
It's not whether Sanderson is ready or not, it's to allow him to fully develop all elements of his game the way Detroit has been doing with Seider. Anyone that has watched Sanderson play has seen enormous progression from the beginning of the year until now in regards to play with the puck and handling of it. However, it still has so much more potential and a few of his amazing dashes could have been better handled(he still fumbles or seems hesitant with the puck when going full speed and bobbles it yet), his hands are not fully caught up to his feet and we wanna disrupt that? Send him back NCAA, let him be able to properly control the puck in blazing speed and gain full confidence with his offensive budding ability then integrate this guy in NHL.
What the hell is the rush? If he is too good for NCAA, or if he himself decides to go pro, play him in AHL for half season at least and go from there.
Look at this play:
At the beginning of the year, Sanderson wouldnt at all have made that happen, yet his progression has been so good that you can still see the potential for him to make one more big move with his hand to score there or generate even better opportunity than the back hand shovel or holding it second extra for better scoring chance after he comes from the boards. Seriously, Sanderson has remarkable potential. Top 5 in the league, imo.
