What's the sayingdregs on 690 is changing his tune now MTL
he is such a troll
They already do… in fact they have the best bottom-6 in the NHL. The 2nd line is / has been their Achilles heel from taking next step to becoming & staying a top-10 team - specifically lack of 2CIf they re-sign Armia, Montreal will have best 4th line in NHL.
I’d give him 2-yrs at $2.5M without blinking - he’s accepted his role & is thriving in itArmia can choose to sign one year deals with us around 2m.. but he's not getting term from me.
I'm not so sure about that but yes, the 2nd line's lack of production has held the team back this year. Even with a minor bump from them may have put us in the playoffs somewhat comfortably imo. They already do… in fact they have the best bottom-6 in the NHL. Which team has a better bottom-6 collectively?I'm not so sure about that but yes, the 2nd line's lack of production has held the team back this year. Even with a minor bump from them may have put us in the playoffs somewhat comfortably imo.
Guess it all depends what a team needs and asks from from their group. Our guys have been excellent, no question.Which team has a better bottom-6 collectively?
63G scored collectively, top end PK - Habs 5OA in PK, 0.6% from being 3OA.
Thought of that but he’d be more likely to seek a long term deal so at this point, a trade would make more sense. Evans was the critical signing and now that it’s been secured, there is no point overly chasing bottom line players — cap increases are best used on elite level players.
Yeah cause Evans signed for less than Hughes offered.
The credit goes to Hughes for making an offer and standing his ground.
Which I have given him way back there if you care to check.Evans deserves credit because he took less than he could have made as a UFA. Hughes deserves credit for standing his ground.

Indeed, but Armia also stated he wants to stay in Montreal. If he wants that, he'll take whatever HuGo throws at him. One year deal, 2 mil max, or buh bye teddybear.
Savard's gotta go. He's slow, old and we need to upgrade there. I'd rather give a shot to a younger player.I would keep Savard. The others can walk yes.
Which has the likelihood of changing starting next season w an injection of Demigod…They play more than the usual bottom 6 though because of our lack of a 2nd line. Evans is playing 15:34 a game which is pretty high for a 3rd line center. The only player in our lineup with what would be considered normal 4th line TOI is Heineman. We basically have a bottom 9 instead of a bottom 6 which is a problem KH will have to solve.
Having best 4th line and top pk unit is quite a thinglol, Armia is gonzos, along with Dvo. Re-sign Pez if they can't find something better.
I think that's a bit misleading.![]()

Highlights. His whole apartment was packed up ready to go in a trade but his heart told him to stay here. He spoke to ex team mates who told him, chasing money is not the way to go about it. He loves the organization, his team mates, the city and the fans. And decided to stay.
he will now buy a house and settle here.
