So I guess the tank isn’t over for Buffalo? In fairness to them, they hemmed us in all game but it’d probably help them to score some goals.
They owned the game, until the later parts of the 3rd period.......hats off to Allen now, two games in a row....
Allen said he wants to play more this year, and after being horrid in game one vs the Leafs, he has been excellent the last two games.

Really sucks to think, but if Dach didn’t get hurt imagine our top 9 post TDL:

CC-Suzuki-Roy
Newhook-Dach-Slafkovsky
Pearson-Monahan-Gallagher

We’d actually be pretty good up front and fun to watch
But when I say this it is illegal, unrealistic, foolish, etc.

Everyone here wants to lose games for the next 3 years and never string together wins

Sacrament ça se peut pas ARIEN comprendre au hockey comme Gaston Therrien pis être payé pour parler de quelque chose qu'il ne comprend même pas. Chaque affaire qu'il est une plus grande stupidité que la stupidité précédente.
Do you usually revert to French when you're this upset?

Every fantasy league, OOTP, EHM etc. league

They all have that GM who always tanks and finishes in the bottom.. the Buffalo Sabres are that team.

What a pathetic start for that franchise... again.

Habs stats in 5 games after this W...

* 58.1 FOW% (ranks 1st)
* 3.20 GF/GP (ranks 13th)
* 3.00 GA/GP (ranks 14th)
* 15% on the PP (ranks 21st)
* 79.3% on the PK (ranks 15th)

* 2 goals against at 5/5 (ranks 1st) This one is impressive. We have 1 goal against at 4/4 and no goals against at 3/3.

* 7 goals against in the 3rd period (ranks 21st)

* 23.15 hits/60 (ranks 2nd)
* 17.46 Blocks/60 (ranks 9th)
* 10.40 giveaways/60 (ranks 31st)
* 5.10 takeaways/60 (ranks 24th)

Giveaways/60 and Takeaways/60 were two stats we struggled with last year. Dead last in giveaways and 28th in takeaways. This is largely due to our youth but an area that has to improve in the coming years. Seattle was very good at both last year and was one of the reasons why they got in the playoffs and knocked off the Avs. And they are strong in this area again this year.

Rational:
- I think the Caufield-Suzuki duo statistically speaking, is among the least efficient first line duo in the league. I don’t know why we always see them as a “lock” together unquestionably.
Cole was 3rd in the league in 5-on-5 goals per 60 last season. Worse this year obviously but it's early. Most of his minutes were with Suzuki. So to say it's the least efficient first line duo in the league is... probably not accurate.

I'm not against splitting them up though, might as well try it, Dvo's return gives the team some more flexibility with Newhook on wing.

Also, Newhook needs to be on # 1 PP instead of Anderson, but that leaves no centres for the second unit. Something else that can be rectified when Dvo returns.

This is pretty interesting.

The only thing is that the habs have played Buffalo, Chicago, and Washington. Three teams that aren't that great. This could be a sign that the habs are not quite a bubble team, but also not quite a lottery team. We will see as the sample size grows. The GA at 5 on 5 is very interesting though.

Habs have struggled with giveaway for decades. I looked at the stats on moneypuck last year all the way to 2008 and there was like one season they were not in the top 5/10 worst. It's not just a youth thing...

Habs are actually decent 5v5 for now (albeit against weaker opposition). Midpack with 53% xGF and a positive differential.

The real problem for now is the penalty differential. 39% share of PP time is atrocious. It’s the 3rd year in a row that Habs are around 40%. Brutal.

We will see.. I think Allen stole the last two games. Don't expect him to continue that long term.
