No one in the locker room will say it to them, so we will!Really hope him and Mika are staying as far away from these boards as possible the next week, ouch

I do agree with you two that buying him out is far better for our team than him playing even 3rd pairing, but I just can't see the organization doing that 2 years after naming him captain.yeah i agree, buying him out is the only option. it would be worth retaining 2-3mil if we could get someone useful back for him but i doubt it (i also doubt that we'll have the balls to buy him out).

What a shame his play was.
Me neither but I also didn't see Drury biting the bullet on Nemeth and Blais. I will have a lot of faith in Drury if he buys him out shows what everyone sees. The captaincy was always a joke even when he was a better player. He wasn't good enough to lead by example and he seems awkward AF so I don't see him as a ra ra guy either in the lockerroom.
YupNot much to say that hasn't already been said. He cannot be on the team next year whether it's trade with retention or buyout. This is probably the easiest move to "shake up the core" (Panarin and Zibanejad are here to stay with their contracts and I think Kreider at his cap hit and goal output is just too valuable to move for a team competing for a Cup) and this isn't a case of a guy just being overpaid. This guy is just a flat out detriment to the team when he's on the ice. Having a replacement level player in his place would have done wonders for them in the playoffs.
Not if he can trade him first.Yup
Buyout on June 15th
easiest decision Chris Drury will ever have
Dude there's no way LMAONot if he can trade him first.
Yes they are.Dude there's no way LMAO
Not even close
We would have been better with a replacement level player (900k cap hit) than Jacob Trouba. He has a 8M cap hit.
GMs are not that dumb
I think Jacob Trouba has trade value around the NHL if we retain $4 mill of salary.Dude there's no way LMAO

If we could magically have half of it disappear would you want to keep Trouba?..I think Jacob Trouba has trade value around the NHL if we retain $4 mill of salary.
The Trouba from the first 3 months of the season? Absolutely! The Trouba after his injury? Probably not.If we could magically have half of it disappear would you want to keep Trouba?..
that's just so selfish and frustrating, i will never understand why he did thatIf so, it would explain a lot. Our D corps was a mash unit.
His play in the first 3 months of the season was so different than his play when he came back. I'd be curious to see if they make anything injury wise public. They tend to be fairly tight lipped. My thoughts on Trouba is that he has to be injured. He either re-broke his foot, or sprained his ankle.
With 2 years left on his deal I see the Rangers Ride or dying with him for one more season, and burying him on the third pair and trading or buy him out in his final season. To me that makes the most sense.
The Rangers will probably get a really good season out of him making him more tradeable and if he shits the bed again a buyout of his final year stings less than 2 years.
I had not seen that but I'm not shocked. He looked so different than in the first 3 months. Thanks for posting that.If so, it would explain a lot. Our D corps was a mash unit.
