Terrible ranger highlighted by his albatross contact and subpar play with costly/timely playoff blunders. Also, a huge contributor to the disaster country club atmosphere that has developed. Mika and CK next please.

I'm not a conspiracy theory guy, but something was amiss with the teams chemistry this season. I wonder if this move fixes that?

I liked Trouba as a physical d-man but he has become more of a liability than a deterrent over the last season and start of this one. It seemed like he was always backing up and giving opposing forwards time and space instead of taking it away.

Does Lavi put the C on another sweater this season?

Great deal for the Rangers. One of my fears was the Rangers were going to have to send a very good prospect or pick and retain salary and none of those things happened. That said I have doubts about Vaakanainen becoming a serious player for us. Adding a 4th rounder isn't bad though.

As far as Anaheim's end of this---I think Verbeek will look to flip Trouba at this deadline or next year's deadline and if Jacob does well enough for the Ducks there will probably be takers. He's a big physical right shot defenseman with playoff experience. No doubt he'll be hoping for a 4th rounder when he does do. I don't think losing Vaakanainen was an issue for the Ducks.

And I wonder what changed from the off-season where Trouba said he wouldn't sign with another team if dealt to now when he's suddenly willing to move to the opposite end of the country?

His contact sucked but we just lost what little toughness we had especially on the back end. What happens when someone rag dolls panarin again? It’s obvious they’re not gonna be playing Rempe so who’s gonna step up?

Thanks Patty Verbeek! Verbeek and Grier are friends to the Rangers. Maybe they will take on Mika's contract someday.

This was alluded to multiple times, as some dark cloud since camp, so no, not a conspiracy. He was probably sulking and withdrawn.

Don’t worry, Drury’s going to bring in Chuck Norris and John Cena to satisfy the TUFFNESS crowd.

Yeah I don't know about big win. But I think the Ducks will move Fowler in a similar deal, Trouba makes a bit more on the cap but slightly less in salary. As a player he fits the Ducks needs as all their current young D are left handed mobile types like Fowler.

Trading next to nothing for guys like Trouba with short term commitments, is certainly favorable to overpaying another veteran Dman by giving scary term in free agency.
It’s a perfectly understandable move for the ducks and fits their needs. Trouba is vastly overpaid and hasn’t played well this year but I wouldn’t be surprised if he has a nice run for you guys.
