Confirmed with Link: Jacob Trouba traded to Anaheim Ducks for Urho vaakanainen and 4th Round conditional pick

Best of luck to Trouba in Anaheim. He was never the best player here, and was judged especially harshly due to his contract, but you really can't deny that until this year and Drury playing games in the offseason, he played his heart out for this team.

Trouba's cap hit helps Anaheim.

The cap floor is 65 mil this year. If the cap goes up to 95+ mil, the cap floor will probably be about 70 mil. Even after the trade, they only have about 55 mil committed to 15 players.

Which expensive free agents are going to be clamoring to sign there and help them reach the cap floor?

Good luck Captain! Thanks for Blueline collisions...Especially the Calgary game where you dismantled half the team. Tell Zegras he's going to love NY someday.

Ducks fans are claiming this as a big win for them too, so I'm glad it benefits both sides.

The fact that Drury got them to take on his full salary is 100% worth the trade alone! Well done Drury, keep the trades coming!!

Yeah I don't know about big win. But I think the Ducks will move Fowler in a similar deal, Trouba makes a bit more on the cap but slightly less in salary. As a player he fits the Ducks needs as all their current young D are left handed mobile types like Fowler.

Trading next to nothing for guys like Trouba with short term commitments, is certainly favorable to overpaying another veteran Dman by giving scary term in free agency.

Deuces. 👋

You know I am a guy who has defended Trouba a lot from a play quality perspective, up until last year. I also defended him using leverage to block a trade this summer; even though I hated it I understood it from a the player's perspective and accepted it for what it was.

So, I am not one to wish this guy ill. With that said, good f***ing riddance.

Finally a take that trades aren’t meant to be zero sum. Adam Smith would be proud.

Trading Trouba isn't really some huge heist because he only has 1 year left after this.

It's still huge but trading Zib would be a lot bigger.

Overall I'm just afraid this gets us closer to paying Igor and breaking the franchise.
