Was or wasn’t Rodrigues taken into concussion protocol? He
came back on the ice quickly. That in and of itself says he wasn’t hit in the head.
No. That in and of itself says the contact wasn’t enough for a concusssion. Or do you thjjj every single touch of the head causes concussions?
The elbow was literally never in his back. The elbow glanced off the side of his shoulder into his neck/jaw, and his FOREARM, which is the actual anatomical structure in that photo, THEN contacted the small of his back. That picture shows the end of the sequence. It also does not show the elbow, which was the body structure closest to the player, and the part of the body that first made contact. Your question is ironic, based on anatomy, physics, and, well, the actual video. Your hypothesis is that he led with his elbow, somehow made first contact on the player’s back with the forearm, which was not extended, then somehow, without breaking his arm or the other player’s shoulder and rib cage, had his elbow magically wrap around and then contact the player’s neck.So what, his elbow got him in the neck AND THEN slid down to his back? Do you understand how linear time works?
Schrodinger's elbow?Such a disingenuous photo. You pause the frame 2 nanoseconds after the Elbow clearly connects to the face. Why didn’t you just fast forward 3 more frames and then you can argue that Trouba’s elbow didn’t touch Rodriguez at all.
Definitely great to source a former referee who got fired for calling a penalty out of spite and admitting it on mic and then spent his retirement screaming at teenage officials and trying to barge into their dressing room.

Ah a $5k fine for a player overpaid by millions. That'll show him!
you have people in here calling for Trouba's suspension just based on the intent. What is Rodrigues' attempt here? I'll continue to post it since nobody has given me close to a thoughtful response.
Edit: 2nd clip non-geolocked for our canadian friends

No shit.
I mean, this shows it the best, and other than Bieksa being wrong about it hitting the shoulder he was right it should have been a 5 on 3 being so long from the first penalty to the other.I'm always impressed at the things that seem obvious when I'm watching the game with family over the long weekend, and then I check in the next day and holy shit two dozen people are defending this as either legal or whabouting it.
My favorite so far was "There's no defending this hit. However...(followed by a paragraph of defending the hit)".
You literally saw in the same game. The reading comprehension must be low in yours.
I never said worst elbow, I can think of many with more violent results, if that’s what you mean by “worst”. Remember those are your words, not mine.
I said deliberate elbow attempts. Yes I’ve never seen so many lunges at elbows like this. Go so far outside your body position to try to land an elbow. There’s a difference.
You're showing a photo after contact. Try at least a photo with the elbow extended before contact if you can't see it in video.View attachment 876267
Vicious glancing blow off Rodriguez back after which he didn’t miss a single shift
The guy quoted one of the biggest idiots to ever ref. Can't take him or any of the Rangers fans who defend this seriously. That's like saying Kris Draper embellished the Lemieux hit
Then he would be suspended. He’s been the worst ranger all playoffs. Not surprised. NHL wants NYR in the Finals.
