Jeez. With a package like that it better be Taylor Hall.

as the resident Bill Veeck or Charley Finley (nod to Mayor) I would trade that package for Taylor Hall in a heartbeat.

Arty - expendable as discussed many times
Cam- meh, at least when compared to Hall
Letestu- a 3rd/4th line center
Wiz - obviously he doesn't fit in long term plans and is only signed for 2 more years.
Prospect- depends - might sub a 2nd this year

Do you guys think your team would retain any cap?

I was thinking Sharp for Tyutin (20% retained) would make some sense for both teams

You guys get goal scorer who is currently blocked out of Hawks top 6 (Saad + Steeger play this year have earned them top 6 LW spots and with Hossa/Kane he cant slot into top 6 RW)

Sharp is signed for 2 more year at 5.9M

Retaining 20% on Tyutin would be Jackets keeping 950k in cap for next 3 years. Hawks would end up with Tyutin at 3.8M for next 3 years

Sharp has NMC/NTC so not sure he would waive it but if he did would this be a deal Jackets would do?

i think the basis of a deal makes sense...this board is split about whether they'd want Sharp (age factor) or not...

not sure about the retaining cap for that deal, but certainly possible, we have the space to do it

Anyone have a list of pending UFA defenseman? If we trade Wiz, and dont end up with a legit NHL dman from an Arty trade, Bob is going to be facing a lot of shots next year. We dont really even have any NHL ready defensive prospects, let alone any that have top D pedegree

I think Ryan Murray would be just fine as a replacement. Yes, he had a tough year with injuries and I know that has to factor in but his shoulder doesn't appear to be a debilitating injury (no flare ups in the little time he's had the chance to play) and the recent ankle sprain was simple bad luck. The knee does concern me some that a "minor" procedure took so long and required a follow up procedure and lengthy time away from the game.

All that said, he's expected to be a major part of this team for a long time and he certainly takes someone's spot in the top 4 next year. I certainly don't see this team spending more money on UFA replacements. They have a lot of money on long term deals already.

If Sharp lost his job to Kris Versteeg then why the heck would we give up a piece like that for Sharp?

Rimer said on the broadcast that the Boston Globe is saying the asking price is a 2nd and a prospect.

was that for Wiz or Cam? I wasn't sure

For either one unless its a heck of a prospect that seems like a bit of Gabby Trade Part Deux regardless of which one it was about. I know we tend to overvalue our own but we're talking about good players here.

For the sake of Kekalainen's future health, that had damn well better not be true. Either that or said prospect should be a ****ing superstar in the making.

It's not crazy to think a 2nd and a prospect is equal to Wiz. Just not sure why we'd subtract that piece if we are serious about making the playoffs next year since we have nobody to fill that role. I do not think Wiz is a very heady player and has a slower processor in all phases not the powerplay so I can see why management isn't married to him. His behind our net (with time) slapshot rim clear gets me going every time.

I do like Tyutin - Goloubef together and ideally that is the shutdown pair over Johnson - Savard.

obviously he has more value but its not like Wiz is our #1D or a young guy. I wouldnt get to worked up over it. Im ok with a late 1st and a mid prospect or a 2nd and decent young guy. we arnt going to get close to what us here want.

Well, I believe the Jackets just hit rock bottom and moved to the sellers column. Frankly, it's just another season where I don't care what happens at the deadline. Until someone running the front office sees that you need more than one elite player on your team to be, well, elite, then I guess I'm not going to get too worked up about the Jackets.

I guess my question is who is the core? All I can come up with is Bob, Joey, Foligno, Dubinsky, Murray and Savard. Is that it? Is everyone else theoretically available?
