Thats fair but this notion that Jack is good compared to Singh is like saying that -25 degrees is a lot better than -30 degrees.
Its a weak argument.

Having been an outside worker in my early 20's...my toes didnt like anything less than -10...lol

I took the opportunity to walk to work at -38 earlier this year. It was great until I noticed my toes freezing. Then it was constant moving them for the last 2km.

I'd like Jack to tone it down a bit. But not too much. His energy and enthusiasm are incredible attributes to him. Agreed though that his banter is annoying at times. If he limits that as well I think more people would like his call.

He has amazing calls on some of our jaw dropping (McDrai) goals. When taken alone, I wouldn't doubt it that they become as legendary as Cole, Cuthbert, etc.

Michaels talks too much, period. And he needs to stop talking about Debrusk.

Debrusk talks non-stop. When does he breathe? Buzzing the f***ing tower.

Together they are unlistenable. They need to shut up once in awhile.

Cut their mics 10 times a period.

I was looking for the tennis thread, couldn’t find it and found this instead.

The Roger’s tournaments are going on this week in Toronto and Montreal and for whatever reason (I assume because the regular Sportsnet people couldn’t get back from the Olympics in time) Gene Principe is hosting and Jack Michaels is doing the play by play for the women’s tournament.

At first I thought it was amusing hearing Jack call games in his tennis voice instead of his obnoxious hockey voice. Also, so far no 80’s movies references or him forgetting he’s there to call a game. Now I’m hoping he does such a good job that Toronto snatches him away from us.

It’s a real trip. I kept tuning in during the middle of matches and not seeing who was doing the games. I noticed right away it wasn’t a regular tennis commentator but I thought the voice sounded familiar. Took me a minute to realize who it was and I couldn’t stop laughing. He’s quiet, subdued and not being a carnival barker at all. I can’t wait to hear him do golf now.

So it didnt take long for Jack and Louie to piss me off.
It only took until 2:53 in the first period of game 5 of the regular season.
I posted this in the PGT but I probably should have posted it here....

The Nurse fight at 2:43 of the first period highlighted exactly why I dont care for the Jack and Louie storytime show.
The reason for that fight (which happened 10 seconds before at 2:53) was never even discussed by those clowns. They were so busy with their mindless banter that they didnt even acknowledge the reason that fight even happened.
That fight happened because of the hit that McCarron dished out on Stecher (edit) right in front of the benches. Right at centre ice.
They just chatted away about crap no one cares about while Stecher (edit) got hammered and didnt even bother to mention it after the fact. That was a very important part of the game that wasnt even acknowleged. They didnt even appear to be aware that it had happened because it was never mentioned at all.
That is a joke and it is a perfect example of how these clowns ruin hockey games with their endless storytime chatter.
Call the f**king play and keep the storytime for between whistles.
Idiots.
