Canes fan here. Gleason has not be good since re signing. I will say he is a solid 7th pairing d man at best. He just isn't good anymore. maybe he will provide mu h needed grit.

He can't be worse than Hillen. We just need him to not get tossed around in the corner or in front of the net. And we'd like him to provide some snarl.

Joe Corvo for Pothier/2nd rounder/Osala. Corvo was horrible for us.

Volpatti with a 575 K Cap Hit and Hillen with a 700 K Cap hit while Gleason has a 1.2 cap hit. Volpatti waiver was about cap and not about making room, all involved are pending UFAs.

Hopefully he can be a solid bottom pairing guy. He certainly fits the mold of the type of player the team seems to like/be targeting (much more than Hillen). Without any moves to bolster the top 6 though, this just seems like shuffling around some deck chairs. Time to see how the next 50 hours play out.
