The only reason to dump him now for lower value is you think his injury is career changing or he's not going to be fully back to elite for the term of his contract. I don't buy this 'distraction' stuff. If he stays, they can pull the 'C' if they need to and give it to Okposo. The Sabres kids that pulled this team out of the slump last year are still here, I don't buy Eichel rehabbing and returning to Buffalo and playing for a trade changes the trajectory of this team at all.

Kakko and Sillinger/Lucious is a notably worse package than Eklund and Comtois or Boldy and Addison, so I hope those aren’t the two main pieces in a Rangers deal.

Eichel wants nothing to do with this franchise anymore.

Keeping him because the return 'wasn't good enough' is absurd. You wouldn't want that toxicity bleeding into the rest of the room that you're trying to build up.

lots of underrating of Kakko IMO. he's a really, really good prospect that's already got some time in the NHL.
