How do you expect this team to get better? We need more young talent because players aren't exactly wanting to flock to Buffalo right now.

im in favor of trading them and hope it works out. I’m just saying it still likely we lose the trade because that’s usually the case when disgruntled starts get traded for futures

I think Fiala is an underrated piece here too. Guy’s been on pace for 29 and 32 goals the last two seasons and is only 25. We’d be taking cap back but in a way that actually helps us.

yea I think he is already a first line winger. Of all the secondary pieces in these discussed trade packages, he is the best. And Boldy/Rossi is arguably the best primary piece

Why would Fiala "want to be here" though? Doesn't the GM only want guys who want to be here?

Fiala is entering his prime right now, there's no way he wants to join a team just starting another rebuild, and couldn't even rebuild right the first time.

Obviously it would be predicated on an extension in place.

Or, heck, just flip him. But regardless, accumulate as many valuable assets as possible first.
