Eichel should stop pushing around a billionaire owner, large company, and fanbase of thousands.

I mean let's be honest, Eichel holds some cards in this process here and in a way he's doing just that. That said I don't want the Sabres to hold him out of spite or anything ridiculous like that. The relationship is over. The only reason to hold on to him now is to make sure you get the best deal possible (and yes Sabres fans realize it's not going to be anywhere near full/fair value).

Unfortunately Fiala's 1-year extension this summer leaves him in the same situation that Reinhart was in. I'd be surprised if the Sabres were interested in taking that on unless they were very confident about their ability to flip him at the trade deadline.
Yeah, but Reinhart was sick of playing for a dysfunctional team as a the second Banana after Eichel. In this scenario, Fiala is new to the team, could be "the man", at least up front, and get paid a lot of long term money, which is reported to be what he wants. MN wasn't prepared to go there, due to the Suter and Parise buyouts and Kaprizov's contract. I don't see Fiala turning down a long term contract if BUF offered him one, and I could see BUF offering him one. He's only 25yo. All this could be hashed out before a trade, in any event.
I'm just not sure that Guerin is down with writing off the season, which is what trading your second best forward for a LTIR(no matter how talented) would likely be. If the trade had been done back in June/July then Eichel would be getting back on the ice around Thanksgiving, assuming all went well. As is, it will probably be after the Olympics, at best. I haven't heard any whispers about the Wild regarding Eichel recently, so I am guessing they're out more because of the damage such a trade would do to their ability to compete this season than their ability have the pieces to trade.

and I will continue to note that this saga will not begin to end until Sabes capitulate on his choice of surgery
Or if they trade him pre surgery, which makes the most sense. Why have a team that doesn't care about his long term well being supervise the surgery, rather than the team that does?

Eichel and his team have essentially set up a NTC clause for themselves by demanding the ADR and only a few teams willing to accept that surgery. Now they have developed a timeline as the surgery needs to happen ASAP not only because of the Olympics which Jack wants to attend but more importantly (apparently) there is pressure on the nerve in his neck and the longer this goes the more chance there is for complications. (Blame the Sabres) So the ADR surgery is going to happen very soon. This week? Brisson calls Eichel a depleted asset so you know that's what trade partners are offering based on. The Sabres now have only two time sensitive options: Trade Jack now for a disappointing return and end the saga OR allow the ADR to allow Jack to rebuild his value through the Olympics and a few Sabres games. Well played Jack. What a POS.

Other teams are fine with him having the surgery he wants to be performed on his body and thats the conclusion you draw?

You think the Sabres' doctor, much celebrated for his expertise in ADR, is going to throw out his clinical diagnosis and medical opinion now because of the Olympics and Pat Brisson?

He is one doctor paid for by the team, he gave his opinion and it was appreciated but he doesn't hold the final decision, his employer does.

Sabres can swallow their pride, let Eichel have the surgery he wants to be performed on his body or stand firm and continue with this mess.

I guess it's not impossible that Fiala would extend long term there, if that's something the Sabres were interested in.

I agree that the timelines for Eichel's surgery and recovery probably kill this from Minnesota's end a this point, though.

May make the most sense but won't happen if they dont give up what Buffalo is asking.

Frankly if they cared that much about what made the most sense they would've already let him get the surgery, and if possible convince him to play to his full potential to showcase himself post surgery while trying to find a trade for him.

sorry you feel that way, but let the record reflect I was correct
Rangers did not deal bluest blue chips here

and I will continue to note that this saga will not begin to end until Sabes capitulate on his choice of surgery
I never had any issue with your belief that the Rangers wouldn't/couldn't/shouldn't pay a kings ransom for Eichel including your "bluest of the blue chips". The issue was your proposals were so bad they were insulting. When this was pointed out to you (by me and several others) you continued making them with no real amendments.

I mean it's definitely far-fetched, but Drury has enough assets that he could get a third team involved if you wanted to and pay them to retain salary. It's not out of the realm of possibility although it is extremely far-fetched. Brooks is only had the information that the rangers want him to put out publicly so far since Chris took over. Again, very far fetched but the organization does have the assets to do it IF they make the decision to pull the trigger

Really?? Which other teams would that be? Nick Kypreos said it APPEARS the NYR will support Jack for ADR. Pat Brisson this week said he has spoke with teams that would LIKELY allow Eichel to have ADR. I have yet to read where a team WILL definitively allow ADR and they have seen the same reports at the Sabres physicians.

there would be zero point of going to all the trouble and expense to acquire Jack Eichel if you’re not already prepared to allow him to have the surgery he wants.
