I think of a Jack Edwards broadcast as a private conversation among Bruins and Boston fans. You’re sorry you interrupted and you know whatever is said isn’t for your ears and happy to be on your way.

Yeah, we wouldn't want anybody to compare hockey to an actual war.


My quip was not referencing the war itself, it was aimed at Edwards for making the comparison with Montreal, which is in Quebec. The French Canadiens at the time probably had a lot less love for King George than the Americans did.

A hell of a lot more relevant than the Germans had to do with a hockey game, that's for sure. Anyway, I'm one who thinks that Edward's Revolutionary War rant was absurd, I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy.

I’m too young for the great habs/bruins rivalries of the 70s, but Edwards sure brought out my hate for your team, its not the same without those types of guys, having players/personnel you truly hate always made for better games.
