Richie and Mrazek and Tavares are also over paidSomeone already broke down the stats on this, it was literally the opinion of like it or two agents. Utter nonsense. Conversely I’d rather have a GM agents respect and will do biz with than one they avoid like the plague. You don’t get players if their agents hate you.
marner is the only bad deal he’s done, if you look at every other gm of their worst deal is overpaying a 90+ 22yo by a mill or two they’d be laughing.
You really think anyone will want Richie or Mrazek with their performances this year and the contracts Dubas gave them……you are a dreamerThere’s a relatively painless path to bringing back jack even at 5+. Mrazek Ritchie one of holl or dermott, Mik. Lots of money to shuffle around the fringes & bottom of line up
Yeah but then we put money into one player that then cannot go down and will have to perform extremely high cause we don't have those bottom fringe guys who will have to be replaced by even lower level/paid players. We may have to try to move Muzzin, Marner etc to get something decent cause even after next year the cap isn't going up by much. There’s a relatively painless path to bringing back jack even at 5+. They are predicting the cap will have zero increase next year and maybe even the year after. The players haven’t even paid off last years escrow and with many games in Canada at 50% or zero capacity HRR is way downYeah but then we put money into one player that then cannot go down and will have to perform extremely high cause we don't have those bottom fringe guys who will have to be replaced by even lower level/paid players. A million for each of the next two years has apparently already been agreed to.They are predicting the cap will have zero increase next year and maybe even the year after. The players haven’t even paid off last years escrow and with many games in Canada at 50% or zero capacity HRR is way down
Take a look at the St. Louis boards for their buyer's remorse. They signed an inexperienced goalie at his peak and are seeing him regress every year since then. Not a pretty sight.

If they keep losing, maybe sooner than later.mrazek will easily be tradeable. He has a long track record.
you think Edmonton wouldn’t take him?

It’s already going up $1m for next seasonThey are predicting the cap will have zero increase next year and maybe even the year after. The players haven’t even paid off last years escrow and with many games in Canada at 50% or zero capacity HRR is way down
Ritchie yeah, based on his play up to now he’s been bad but you have to believe they weren’t the only team after him and offering him a similar deal. It’s only got one year after this, you act like it’s some sort of Marty lapointe in Boston albatross of a deal.Richie and Mrazek and Tavares are also over paid
Not really. Replacing mrazek with a $1-1.5m goalie would be the only real significant downgrade. One of dermott or holl are the 7th D next year, you can replace that role cheaper. Ritchie same deal. 13-14th forward. If one of Kase or Mik would take Ritchies $2.5m you have their salary instead. Every team shuffles the chairs around a bit.Yeah but then we put money into one player that then cannot go down and will have to perform extremely high cause we don't have those bottom fringe guys who will have to be replaced by even lower level/paid players. Not just them, plenty of teams will be looking for a guy who can give them 35-45 games of quality work.mrazek will easily be tradeable. He has a long track record.

Mrazek simply hasn’t played enough for anyone to make any definitive decision other than his history shows he’s fully capable of living up to that aav
Probably package them both and take back a nothing contract… there’s a few teams that would love to have a big body and a stable goaler for nothing but capWe may need to add a sweetener to dump Ritchie but shouldn't be too expensive if it comes to that so I'm not too concerned. And I agree re. Mrazek, he's a proven goalie and I doubt that the 4 games he's been able to play has much of an impact on his value though obviously it would help if plays well from here on in.
Bloated? Currently 9 goalies make 6+ million per year, 17 make 5 million or more. What would a top 5 goalie this season expect?Campbell’s stats are about to take a huge dip. Good job Dubas on not listening to the pundits and giving him a bloated contract. I predict he will end around .919 to .922, which is still top 5 in the league but nowhere near what he had about a week ago
With his track record and age combo? 5x5 give or take a few hundred K either way and a year or two either way. I think the $30m figure is the sweet spot, stretch it over 7 and the cap hit is only 4.29Bloated? Currently 9 goalies make 6+ million per year, 17 make 5 million or more. Based on what? I swear people here don’t pay attention to anything outside the leafs sphere. Mrazek is a good goalie signed to a good deal.I think it will take a significant sweetener to move Mrazek and/or Ritchie to clear space for Jack.
We will see.A million for each of the next two years has apparently already been agreed to.
Based on the fact that they have been awful. Haven’t you been watchingBased on what? I swear people here don’t pay attention to anything outside the leafs sphere. Mrazek is a good goalie signed to a good deal.
Track records are great but so far this year his track record has not been good so unless he has some miraculous turn around he will be hard to move at his current pricemrazek will easily be tradeable. He has a long track record.

If Mrazek is all the things you claim he is why would the Leafs even consider getting rid of him?Based on what? I swear people here don’t pay attention to anything outside the leafs sphere. Mrazek is a good goalie signed to a good deal.
