i think your head is f****d , first of all kerfoot doesn't have the fancy numbers miller has but he is a well rounded player and would replace miller easily on the canucks lineup, and you want to add first and other players on a trade......
Marner for 2nd, Garland and Podkolzin

sounds silly? Doesn’t it

If you want to blame "Leaf Hate" do you acknowledge that "Leaf Love" might also be an issue in this thread?

For example, you just called Nick Robertson a "top prospect."

Do you think that might be... a little generous in terms of describing him?

I'm not even allowed to love my team now? Do you think only Leafs fans like their own team, or maybe even *gasp* over rate a prospect?

BTW Robertson was rated the Leafs #1 prospect 2 months ago by Sportsnet. And #20 in the entire NHL just last month by The Hockey Writers.

Is "top prospect" really so generous that it's an "issue"?

I'm not really interested in J.T. Miller for the Leafs. They already have better, younger players. The Leafs can't fit him under the cap without significant changes to their roster. They can't afford to re-sign him. He would be past his prime when his contract comes up at the end of next season, and I'm hearing unsubstantiated rumors that he would rather play for an American-based team anyway. So, no thanks.

Maybe the Bruins or the Rangers?

No? He's a top prospect. Ridiculous d1 season in the OHL, 25th best 19 year old PPG season ever in the AHL (over 20GP), and 13th best since 2010. That while probably being the youngest 19 year old on that list. Every player on that list besides Christian Fischer has turned into a top-6 (or better) player or is still developing.

But I guess your definition of a "top-prospect" is different?

JT has been great for the Canucks and if they retain we'd be getting a top-line player for cheap for another season. Easily worth a 1st + solid prospect +. This deal is insane though lol. 2 top-prospects (sandin isn't really a prospect anymore), a 1st and good middle 6 F lol. I expect the Canucks to do well with him, but ya right.

More likely he has no idea who Nick Robertson is and like most forms their opinion on the sweater they wear.

We have one JT already, and don't need another.

On the other hand:

That is a fact buddy. If traded today the forward points on the Canucks would be:
Kerfoot 31 pts
Boseser 24 pts
Garland 24 pts
Pettersson 24 pts
Horvat 23 pts

Unless his points for the season reset to 0 if he gets traded?
Kerfoot is nothing more than a camp dump. Playing with players who inflate his value does not mean that will translate with the Canucks. No thanks

I can't believe that people are saying what they're saying lmao. Robertson & Sandin is already an overpayment. Let alone a good 2W or 3C in Kerfoot and a 1st rounder?

Easy, easy pass.

For the Canucks, yah, it is an easy pass.

Sandin, a 1st, a young forward who would instantly become the Canucks top scoring forward after the trade, and a quality prospect.

No chance I would do this from Leafs perspective.

And leafs fans wonder why other fan's accuse them of not knowing shit about other teams, I give you exhibit A

Please explain.

As has already been explained his numbers are inflated from playing on the leafs.

Kerfoot would not be on the top line here as he really isn't any better then what we have in our top 6 now.

Tanner Pearson would have 30 points on that Leafs team and nobody would call him a top line player.

Calling Kerfoot one "on this Canucks team" based on point totals is disingenuous and completely ignores context.

It is factually true that he would instantly become their leading scorer this season amongst forwards. Nobody said he would be their best forward. Point is he isn’t a nothing piece when he would have the most forward points on your team.

Haven't read the entire thread but I would just like to add that Kerfoot has:
6-24-30 points not counting the PP which he doesn't play much of while Miller has:
10-14-24 points not counting the PP. Miller has 20 PP points and Kerfoot has 1.

Who cares if its factually true given context.

He's throw in on this team and would be completely redundant. We have more than enough middle six guys, which is exactly what Kerfoot is.
