Wow, just realized he is only 22 still.

Very happy with his development this season.

And yet some people at the start of the season were saying how this is a do or die season for Miller. Ship him if he doesn't figure it out.

Remember when he was being scratched for Glass? How far he's come! He's becoming a real impact player. The Garden was buzzing anytime he carried the puck into the O zone.

My supervisor said the said thing today at work when I brought up the game:laugh: When all is "said and done" I think Miller is going to be a very good all around player. He's going to be a big part of this team moving forward as he is right now. Also count me in with the crowd that called Miller having a big year, I dedicated an entire username to it which is kind of a big deal....

Oh but wait I thought AV was ruining him the way he treated JT in the last year ??

Also, has anyone noticed that Miller, Mcilrath, and Lindberg are all having really good seasons so far ?

The Miller-Brassard duo have a lot of chemistry right now. Miller has become really tenacious on the puck in the offensive zone---using his size and strength to retrieve pucks on the forecheck and driving the net consistently night after night. He's playing like a skilled power forward. If only Kreider would do the same.

If this continues JT's going to get a nice new deal over the summer.

Team MVP right now. Incredible year. Imagine if we just had Nash scoring at a 30 goal pace...not even 40...this team would be scary. But i would also prefer Nash to do a reversal and figure it out come playoff time.

Lindbetgs been up and down.. Hot start and more or less ice cold sinc then..mcilrath hardly plays.

Maybe instead of the bridge they should see if they can buy up all his RFA years and maybe add in a UFA year or two on top of it. While cap is stagnant and players are pretty much going to have to sign cheaper if they want to sign long term.

Not run into another Hagelin situation where they can not fit him.

Not run into another Stepan situation where he gets a 6.5M cap hit when he is 25.

It's a tough call, but I'd still rather see them lean towards risking a mistake on someone who would be in his prime, someone who may eclipse his cap hit with his play.

Only long term contract I can find from that draft class outside of the top picks.
Couturier 4.3M cap hit 6 years
Seems like too much.

Better off using that extra cap space on Glass, Boyle and the next Glass and Boyle? :sarcasm:

We all knew he wasn't going to light it up scoring it was a really nice start but he's played good Hockey nobody ever mentions him because he's usually just very solid all around and by all around meaning he's been all around the lineup it's not like he's playing with the cavalcade of stars out there.

Go back and watch the Dallas game I don't think you registered a point nobody really mentioned him after the game but every shift he did something really really good and created chances.

Steady/Heady player.

If you look at their play relative to where their NHL careers are at, they are all having really good seasons. Two rookies will get what their given and have to make due with the limited time they'll get from the coach.

Lindberg's scoring may not really be there consistently, but his overall 200ft game is really good. He's also playing out of position with the human pylon, Kevin Hayes, and whatever 3rd piece the coach can muster up. While Nash is out, I'd rather see him on a RW with Miller and Brassard for better scoring ability and let Fast be what he is... a solid 3rd line player.

Besides the positive points most already discussed, one attribute I really like about Miller is when he has the puck, and someone is coming to hit him, he sometimes counters with a hit of his own, totally surprising the defensive player (much like Forsberg used to do). I saw him do it twice yesterday, and noticed he's been doing it a lot more recently. One of the best examples I can think of is when we were playing the Sens last year and Karlsson tried to lay him out while JT was flying up the left side, and he absolutely nailed KArlsson instead. Lost the puck there, but he has a penchant for hitting the guy that's trying to hit him first.

I was LOLing pretty hard when people were clamoring to trade him last year before the deadline

Noted Miller homer, and even I would not have guessed this. What an awesome surprise.

Hopefully he never looks back from this hot streak.

This may sound odd but my favorite part of JT's game is his hitting. There's hitting guys in the corners and then there's slamming them in the glass (legally). Love it. He'd be a pain in the ass to play against.

He has but Miller has been up longer and McIlrath hasn't had a heavy workload.

I can't help but think that if McIlrath played every game (or very large chunk of them) he'd be hitting the wall somethat kinda like Lindberg.

As bad or subpar as this season has been there is plenty of positivity. We unveiled 3 new young players for the future.

You know....with all of the comments about his strength, his shot, and his hitting....he's like an OV-lite. Or maybe a vegetarian OV, lol. Or a vegetarian OV that eats eggs and dairy. I dunno, but seriously exciting stuff from JT.

O-VEGAN! lol

I would just crap my pants if this is who Miller is now, and we've got ourselves a 30+ goal scorer, 60+ point player.

Then Buchnevich comes over and within two years is a 40 goal scorer.

Then Kreider hits 30 goals.

Then McDonagh wins a Norris.

And Brady Skjei becomes an All-Star.

And Dan Girardi retires.

OH MAN DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THE BEST-CASE POSITIVITY!!!!

A nice change of pace from the ubiquitous "Let's blow it up...let's re-build....let's re-tool" posts.

Feel free to continue the positivity.

is Girardi already moving on from Rosival status to Redden status?
